Studio OAK has finally confirmed that the Korean BL Thundercloud Rainstorm (천둥구름 비바람) will premiere on 28 November 2025, and the hype is already kicking off after the studio dropped its first trailer. This marks a major chapter for Yoon Jisung, former Wanna One leader, who steps into one of his most intense and emotionally demanding roles to date.

Far from the gentle campus romances dominating the BL scene, Thundercloud Rainstorm storms in with heavier themes, darker tones, and a character-driven storyline that isn’t afraid to get messy.

The drama starts with a cold, quiet funeral. Seo Jeong Han unexpectedly comes face to face with his distant cousin Lee Il Jo after years without contact.

The pair were hardly close to begin with, but Jeong Han quickly realises Il Jo is going through a difficult time both financially and emotionally.

Trying to be decent, Jeong Han invites him to stay under his roof—just until Il Jo gets his life back together. That intention doesn’t last long.

What begins as simple cohabitation slowly twists into something neither of them is prepared for. One reckless night, fuelled by drink and bottled-up emotions, ends with a sudden kiss.

From that moment, their dynamic shifts sharply. Jealousy creeps in, boundaries blur, and Il Jo becomes the centre of Jeong Han’s fractured attention.

Jeong Han, usually calm and contained, starts losing grip the more he tries to “help”. Il Jo, meanwhile, finds himself pulled closer to someone he can’t quite read.

Thundercloud Rainstorm positions itself far away from soft-romance territory.

Instead, the drama digs into emotional dependence, unresolved wounds, cohabitation tension, and the sort of attachment that makes viewers question whether the relationship is healing or destructive.

The core question lingers through every scene:

Is this love, or a storm waiting to break?

It’s a psychological romance at heart—slow-burning, uneasy, and rooted in the characters’ unresolved past.

Cast Line-Up

Yoon Jisung stars as Lee Il Jo, a young man stuck in a difficult situation with no stable home or support.

His vulnerability becomes both his strength and his downfall as he grows attached to Jeong Han.

Jeong Ri U takes on the role of Seo Jeong Han, a successful yet guarded man who genuinely wants to assist Il Jo, only to find his emotions spiralling into dangerous territory.

Additional cast: Jang Won Hyuk, Lee Dong Joo.

The drama is adapted from the original web novel by Caesim (Chechim), known for its tense emotional tone and complex character psychology.
