On the night of 8 November 2025, just a day before her 27th birthday, Zhao Lusi turned her hometown of Chengdu into an ocean of light and emotion.

Her concert, aptly titled Miss You, wasn’t just a fan meeting — it felt more like a love letter to those who had stood by her through the toughest year of her life.

And in true Zhao Lusi fashion, the night was filled with laughter, tears, and raw honesty.

“I thought I could never be an actress again,” she confessed tearfully on stage, her voice trembling as she thanked her fans, family, and friends.

“Now that I can stand here again, I feel happy. It was so difficult before. But because you’re here, I know it’s okay — I can still do what I love.”

💔 From Breakdown to Breakthrough

Zhao Lusi’s heartfelt confession didn’t come out of nowhere. Back in December 2024, while filming the drama Lover, she fell seriously ill.

Photos later emerged of her in a wheelchair, and her schedule was abruptly halted.

What many didn’t know then was that the actress had been diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety, brought on by prolonged exhaustion and relentless work pressure.

For a while, she even believed she might have to give up acting altogether.

That emotional strain was only made worse by ongoing conflicts with her former agency, Galaxy Cool Entertainment

In August 2025, Zhao shocked fans by temporarily closing her Weibo account and announcing an indefinite break from the industry.

She later spoke up about the mistreatment she faced, recounting how she was verbally abused and physically harassed while waiting for work.

“I was scolded for not getting a role,” she revealed in a livestream.

“They chased me, pulled my hair, slapped me. Should everyone come out to confirm this?”

The revelation sparked massive support from fans and fellow artists, many urging her to take time to heal.

🌱 Finding Her Strength Again

After months of rest and therapy, Zhao Lusi slowly began to recover, helped by what she fondly calls her “guardian circle” — her fans, family, and a few steadfast friends.

She then launched her own independent studio, marking the start of a brand-new chapter in her career.

At Miss You, Zhao Lusi candidly shared how difficult the road back had been.

“After almost a year of rest, I finally realised how much I need you all,” she told her fans — affectionately known as Ke Lu Li. “Your love is amazing.”

🎤 Tears, Laughter, and Chengdu Charm

Despite being a private event — with no public ticket sales — the Miss You concert was packed with warmth. Only 5,000 fans were able to attend through a special quiz-based reservation system.

Zhao Lusi even joked about the process, sharing a screenshot of her failed attempt to get a ticket herself.

“The questions were really difficult,” she laughed during the show. “I almost couldn’t come!”

Zhao performed several songs close to her heart, including Black Veil Bride, Don’t Wanna Know, and the lively 全是爱 (All Is Love) — where she surprised everyone by rapping in the Chengdu dialect.

Among the crowd were some familiar faces: veteran actress Zeng Li, her long-time mentor Li Wei (also founder of Galaxy Cool Entertainment), and Love’s Ambition director Chen Chang, who Zhao credited for giving her a “second life” through the character Xu Yan.

💌 A Full-Circle Moment

Towards the end of the concert, Zhao got visibly emotional as she thanked Li Wei for his continued support throughout her eight-year career.

She revealed that just 37 days before the show, she reached out to him with a simple request: “I want to meet my fans again.”

Within days, he had arranged everything.

The result?

A moving, cathartic night that reminded everyone why Zhao Lusi remains one of the most beloved stars of her generation — not just for her acting, but for her authenticity.

“It’s okay to fall,” she said softly before her final song. “Because when I stand again, I see you all smiling.”
