| Where Was The Family Plan 2 Filmed? All Filming Locations for the Mark Wahlberg Sequel (Photo: Apple TV) |
The Family Plan is officially back in action — and this time, Dan and his chaotic clan are sprinting across Europe. Apple TV’s The Family Plan 2, directed by Simon Cellan Jones, brings back Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Monaghan, and Zoe Colletti, while welcoming Kit Harington as the mysterious new threat. And as expected, the film doesn’t just escalate the drama… it massively upgrades the scenery too.
With car chases weaving through historic streets, holiday chaos unfolding in picture-perfect tourist spots, and a surprising amount of comedy squeezed into each high-speed escape, the sequel takes its “family on vacation” theme very literally — sending viewers on a proper European tour.
Below is a full breakdown of every major filming location used in The Family Plan 2, plus a bit of behind-the-scenes context to help you spot the real-life places when watching.
All The Family Plan 2 Filming Locations Revealed
Filming for the sequel took place across England, France, and the United States, with production officially kicking off in December 2024 under the undercover working title “Andersons.” Cameras rolled for just over three months before wrapping in March 2025.
Here’s the full location guide:
Surrey, England — Studio Action at Shepperton
Surrey played a huge role, mainly thanks to Shepperton Studios, one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious production hubs. The cast and crew used several of its 31 sound stages, plus backlots and controlled environments for complex sequences.
Some of the high-speed driving scenes and boat sequences fans see in the film were created right on the studio’s closed sets — perfect for the more dangerous stunts you definitely wouldn’t want happening on actual UK roads.
Paris, France — Scenic Chaos in the City of Lights
A massive chunk of the movie unfolds in Paris, making it one of the film’s standout locations. Fans will instantly recognise iconic landmarks sprinkled throughout the chase sequences — think:
-
Eiffel Tower
-
Arc de Triomphe
-
The Louvre
-
Sacré-Cœur
-
Panthéon
Production was spotted across Île Saint-Louis, Pont Marie, and around the 8th and 18th arrondissements, using both narrow side streets and wide boulevards to give the action a cinematic contrast.
Several scenes were also shot on and along the Seine River, hinting at boat chases and waterfront stand-offs — perfect for Paris’ winter aesthetic and the film’s holiday storyline.
Los Angeles, California — Back to Hollywood for Key Scenes
While the sequel spends most of its runtime abroad, parts were still filmed in Los Angeles, the stronghold of American production. From establishing shots to interiors and pickups, L.A. provided the practical backdrop the crew needed.
Its giant studios, wide roads, and access to post-production facilities helped the production keep momentum even while juggling international footage.
London, England — Double-Decker Fights and City Centre Mayhem
London delivered some of the film’s most attention-grabbing action scenes. The Westminster area actually shut down sections of traffic so the crew could transform the streets into a full-action zone.
One standout moment?
A fight sequence between Mark Wahlberg and Kit Harington on the upper deck of a classic red London bus — probably one of the film’s most “London-coded” scenes.
The production also used parts of Brick Lane, including local shops and restaurants, giving the film a nice blend of modern and gritty East London texture.
Kent, England — A Quiet Pub Turned Filming Gold
Kent once again proved why it’s one of the UK's favourite filming counties. The production team took over the charming Shipwright’s Arms pub in Hollowshore, Faversham — a genuine 17th-century spot overlooking peaceful waterways.
On-screen, this location likely becomes one of Dan’s “quick stop” hideouts or comedic family break scenes, contrasting the high-intensity action with warm, countryside visuals.
Brighton, England — Additional Scenes on the Seaside
Some bonus scenes were captured in Brighton, giving the sequel that breezy, coastal vibe. Whether it’s a family moment on the pier or part of a chase running through the city’s narrow lanes, Brighton adds a more relaxed backdrop compared to the rest of the film’s chaos-driven itinerary.
