Chinese entertainer Tong Zhuo has sparked widespread concern online after issuing an urgent plea on 25 November, asking the public to help locate his younger cousin, Li Yiheng, who has been reported missing in Cambodia since mid-November.
Tong Zhuo revealed through a lengthy social media post that his cousin left for work on 13 November and has not been contactable since. The family initially tried to handle the situation privately, but with no progress and their anxiety growing by the day, they decided to go public in the hope of gathering more leads.
According to Tong, the family has already traced what appears to be Li Yiheng’s last known location and is prepared to share full details with verified authorities or trusted organisations.
He described the emotional strain on their household, especially on Li’s mother, who has reportedly been struggling to cope.
“I never thought I’d be looking for my brother like this,” Tong wrote. “Our mum is just waiting for one sentence: ‘I’m home.’ I hope the boy who grew up with me can return safely.”

Last Detected Signal Near Banteay Meanchey
A key update came from an account named “Single Mother Seeking Son in Cambodia”, believed to belong to Li’s mother. She stated that her son’s last detected signal appeared briefly in the Banteay Meanchey region of Cambodia.
She also disclosed that after Li was reported missing, the family received a few short voice messages that sounded weak and unclear. Although the messages confirmed he was still able to make contact at some point, his exact condition remains unknown.
The mother said she has been working tirelessly, contacting multiple channels and agencies in both countries, but so far, there has been no breakthrough. She expressed deep concern and urged anyone with credible information to step forward.
“I know those messages were sent during a time when he was extremely tired and afraid,” she wrote. “The moment I heard him say he wanted to come home, my whole heart sank.”

Chinese Embassy Confirms They Are Handling the Case
The case gained even wider traction on 26 November after the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia released an official statement confirming they had received a citizen report regarding an individual surnamed Li who could not be reached.
The embassy stated that they began coordinating immediately with Cambodian authorities to verify details and conduct a search. They assured that they would continue following the case closely and remain committed to the safety and legal protection of Chinese citizens in Cambodia.
Their statement came shortly after Tong Zhuo’s post went viral, prompting waves of online support and calls for rapid action.
Netizens Mobilise to Help the Family
Tong Zhuo’s emotional post has triggered a wave of sympathy across social media platforms, with thousands of users resharing the information in hopes of generating leads. Many expressed understanding and compassion towards Li’s mother, who has been posting updates through her account.
Despite the heavy atmosphere, Tong Zhuo thanked everyone who helped amplify the message, saying every share increases the chance of bringing Li home.
Li’s mother, meanwhile, said she is not pointing fingers at anyone and has only one hope: for her son to return safely. She emphasised that she is willing to provide detailed location data privately to trusted organisations due to cross-border safety concerns.

As of now, there has been no confirmed update on Li Yiheng’s whereabouts. The family remains on standby, hoping for information from members of the public, relevant departments, or anyone with knowledge of the area where Li was last detected.
