| Thai Social Media Heats Up as Tao TVPool Questions Jeff Satur’s Fit for Miss Universe Stage |
Thai media personality Tao TVPool has landed himself in hot water after making remarks that many fans felt were dismissive of singer-actor Jeff Satur. The controversy erupted during Tao’s livestream, where he questioned why Jeff was chosen to perform at the 74th Miss Universe competition, set to take place in Thailand this November under the leadership of Nawat Itsaragrisil.
During the broadcast, Tao claimed he “didn’t know Jeff” and described him as a “local singer”, suggesting that the Miss Universe stage traditionally brings in internationally recognised performers with globally popular songs. He went on to imply that the decision to invite Jeff reflected limited funding, sparking immediate anger among viewers.
The comments didn’t sit well with Jeff Satur’s supporters, especially given his growing international presence.
Jeff Satur, who has built strong fanbases in Latin America, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and beyond, reacted subtly but firmly.
On platform Twitter, he posted a short message: “In this world, it’s true that people dislike others without knowing them.”

Although he didn’t mention anyone by name, the timing left little doubt among fans about what had triggered the post.
Thai netizens quickly banded together to defend him, questioning how anyone in the industry could be unaware of Jeff Satur’s rising global profile.
Comments flooded social platforms, with many pointing out that his concerts across Asia and Latin America have repeatedly sold out.

Others argued that calling Jeff a “local act” simply didn’t reflect reality.
The debate escalated even further when old comparisons were brought up.
Tao referenced previous Miss Universe performers such as John Legend, Charlie Puth and Lady Gaga, insisting the event normally features world-renowned names.

Fans countered that Jeff’s involvement this year was part of a deliberate push to highlight Thai talent, echoing past remarks from Miss Universe Thailand licence holder Nawat Itsaragrisil.
According to Nawat, Jeff was chosen precisely because he represents a new generation of Thai artists gaining traction abroad.
He previously stated that the organisers wanted to elevate Thai performers on a global stage, and Jeff’s momentum across different regions made him an ideal figure to showcase.
As chatter spreads across Thai social media, the dispute shows no signs of cooling.
What began as a simple off-hand remark has now grown into a national conversation about respect, changing music landscapes, and the responsibility public figures carry when speaking about homegrown talent.
With Miss Universe 2025 fast approaching, all eyes are now on how both sides move forward – and whether Jeff’s performance will become one of the highlights that fans expect it to be.
