| Siba Media Condemns Illegal Data Leak Involving Bai Xinyu and Yuan Yiqi |
Shanghai Siba Culture Media Group has released a firm and rather lengthy statement after discovering that the personal information of two of their SNH48 members — Bai Xinyu and Yuan Yiqi — was circulating online without permission.
The agency called the incident a serious breach of privacy and emphasised the emotional pressure and disruption it has caused the artists. According to the agency, the leaked information was obtained and shared illegally by outside individuals.
Some posts even spread across major social platforms, prompting immediate concern among fans.
In the case of Yuan Yiqi, the situation reportedly escalated to the point where certain individuals attempted to trace her residence, which Siba described as a direct interference with the artist’s normal life and work.
Swift Internal Investigation and Legal Action Prepared
Siba stated that they launched an internal investigation the moment they noticed the leak.

They have since worked closely with legal advisers to track the original source and secure evidence from multiple platforms.
All relevant links, images, and related posts have been archived as evidence.
The agency confirmed that formal complaints were filed with the platforms involved.
Many of the offending posts have already been removed following their requests.
Siba was clear on one point: any misuse or distribution of personal information is against the law under Chinese regulations, and the company has no plans to take the situation lightly.
They reiterated that the online environment is not exempt from legal responsibility, warning that anyone continuing to spread the leaked material could face legal consequences.
Firm Warning Issued
Both statements — one for Bai Xinyu and one for Yuan Yiqi — carried the same tone.
Siba condemned the leak, demanded all unlawful activities cease, and insisted that any further attempts to use or spread the information will be pursued legally.

The agency pointed out that the acts may fall under the offence of infringing on citizens’ personal information under Chinese criminal law.
They made it very clear that if the individuals responsible persist, Siba will not hesitate to file a police report and move forward with legal proceedings.
Siba also called on fans, the general public, and media outlets to avoid viewing or reposting any of the leaked material.
They asked supporters to refrain from spreading rumours, contributing to speculation, or engaging in negative discussions regarding the incident.
The company thanked fans for their continued support and assured them that the safety and wellbeing of their artists remain a top priority.
According to the statement, Siba will strengthen its information security measures to ensure its talents can focus on their work without added stress.
