Taiwanese star Show Lo is back in the headlines this week, but not for reasons he’d prefer. Over the past few days, online chatter in both Taiwan and mainland China has exploded with claims about his supposed marriage plans and alleged involvement with his manager’s children.

After watching the speculation spiral out of control, his studio stepped in on the 20th with a clear, uncompromising statement: none of it is true.

Studio Slams Rumours as “Misleading” and “Recklessly Twisted”

According to the statement, the viral posts stem from edited snippets and deliberately twisted interpretations of old interviews and fan-shared content.

The studio stressed that the circulating claims bear “no connection whatsoever” to real events and that they’ve already collected substantial evidence of the fabrications.

They also urged the public to stop spreading unverified rumours, reminding everyone to respect both Show Lo’s privacy and the dignity of individuals dragged into the gossip by association.

The Rumour That Started the Fire

The noise kicked off after resurfaced reports suggested Show Lo had once considered marrying his long-time manager, Xiao Shuang.

Social media users then added their own spin, claiming he planned to adopt her two children – a rumour that instantly sparked heated debates online.

But the truth is far simpler. Xiao Shuang, who has worked with Show Lo for more than 20 years, is a single mother of two.

Taiwanese media previously reported that she welcomed her mixed-heritage children through IVF, and Show Lo has publicly expressed that he treats the kids kindly because of the loyalty and support Xiao Shuang has shown him throughout his career.

He even said in an earlier interview:

“I treat her children as if they were my own. I want them to feel accompanied. My way of repaying her is through kindness, because she has always been there for me.”

These comments were meant as appreciation for someone who stood by him through his lowest points — not a hint at secret marriage plans.

A Flood of Speculation Crosses a Line

Despite the context being clear, online speculation escalated, with some posts dragging in private individuals and minors, prompting the studio to draw a firm line.

They noted that the rumours have caused “serious public misunderstanding” and involved “baseless assumptions” about people who are not public figures.

The studio warned that if malicious posts aren’t removed, they will consider taking legal action.

Show Lo Responds After Release of His New Book

The timing is particularly unfortunate for Show Lo, who recently released a new book reflecting on his career setbacks and how his manager Xiao Shuang supported him during his most difficult years.

Their long partnership — stretching nearly three decades — has been a central theme as he rebuilds his public image.

However, what was meant to be a heartfelt acknowledgment of loyalty was soon twisted into unfounded assumptions. Fed up with the situation, he reposted the studio’s statement on Weibo, emphasising that any false claims about his personal life will be addressed seriously.

For now, Show Lo’s camp simply wants one thing: for the rumours to stop. They’ve made it plain that these claims are not only inaccurate but deeply unfair to both Show Lo and those close to him.

How the online conversation evolves from here remains to be seen, but one thing is certain — Show Lo isn’t letting fabricated stories overshadow his new chapter.
