Fans Can’t Stop Talking About 12-Year-Old Nishizumi Misaki

Many fans praised her courage and talent, calling her “a future ace in the making,” while others raised concerns about her young age in such a demanding and high-profile industry.

On platforms like Ameblo & Twitter and Japanese community boards, discussions broke out about whether debuting someone so young is appropriate — especially considering the group’s busy schedules and the public attention idols receive.

Some users wrote things like:

“She’s adorable, but the industry can be harsh. I just hope her parents and management really protect her.”

Others defended the decision, pointing out that the age range was clearly stated in the original audition requirements, which allowed applicants from 11 to 24 years old as of June 22, 2025

“It’s not unusual — Aki-P groups have always nurtured young talents. Look at past members who debuted at 12 or 13 and grew up into top idols.”

🎤 A Dream Many Still Chase

For many young girls in Japan, becoming part of an idol group like NMB48 remains a dream opportunity

The group, produced by Yasushi Akimoto (Aki-P), has a solid reputation in Japan’s entertainment industry.

Over the years, the AKB48 umbrella has expanded massively — spawning sister groups like SKE48, HKT48, NGT48, as well as Sakamichi Series groups (Nogizaka46, Sakurazaka46, Hinatazaka46) and newer projects like RainTree and 22/7.

Aki-P’s philosophy has always been about “idols you can meet” — nurturing ordinary girls into stars audiences can cheer for and grow up alongside.

In that sense, the 11th gen perfectly fits that vision, with ages ranging from 12 to 24, symbolising the next generation of Osaka’s beloved idol group.

📅 What’s Next for NMB48’s 11th Gen?

The newly introduced members are expected to begin regular performances at the NMB48 Theatre soon, gradually participating in stage shows and media appearances.

Their first group activities and interviews will likely roll out across YouTube and official social media channels in the coming weeks.

As for Nishizumi Misaki, who will turn 13 on 27 November 2025, she’s already caught everyone’s attention — and no doubt, all eyes will be on how she grows within the group.

TL;DR

NMB48 introduced its 11th generation members during their 15th Anniversary Live concert.

The debut of 12-year-old Nishizumi Misaki — the youngest in AKB48 Group history — sparked online debate about age and idol industry pressures.

Still, many fans see her as the next generation’s symbol of Aki-P’s “idols you can grow with” philosophy.
