| Kabuki Actor Nakamura Hashinosuke and Former Nogizaka46’s Nojo Ami Announce Engagement After 4.5 Years of Dating |
Big congratulations are in order for Kabuki actor Nakamura Hashinosuke (29) and former Nogizaka46 member Noujo Ami (31)!
The couple officially announced their engagement during a joint press conference held at a Tokyo hotel on November 10, marking a heart-warming union between traditional stage and idol pop culture.
Hashinosuke, known for his graceful stage presence and lineage as the eldest son of famed Kabuki actor Nakamura Shikan VIII and actress Mita Hiroko, stood proudly beside Nojo as they shared the happy news with reporters.
From Stage Co-Stars to Life Partners
Their love story began back in 2021, when they co-starred in the musical Ichizoku no Poe (The Poe Clan).
Sparks flew during rehearsals, and what started as a professional partnership soon blossomed into romance.
After dating for four and a half years, the pair decided to take the next step in their relationship earlier this year.
Hashinosuke revealed that he proposed during a romantic trip to Hawaii in July, saying with a smile.

“I told her, ‘From now on, I’ll make sure you’re always happy — will you marry me?’”
Nojo couldn’t hold back her tears recalling the moment, adding,
“Of course I said yes. He even picked out the ring himself. When he gave it to me, I was so moved I couldn’t stop crying.”
She then proudly showed off her Harry Winston engagement ring, which gleamed under the lights of the gold-screen backdrop.
A Touch of Family Tradition
Nojo appeared at the press event wearing a kimono with deep sentimental value — the exact same one Hashinosuke’s mother, Mita Hiroko, wore at her own engagement announcement back in 1991.
The gesture drew admiration from fans and reporters alike, symbolising the joining of families and the passing of tradition.
When asked about how they address each other, the couple also melted hearts: Hashinosuke revealed he calls her “Aimi”, while Nojo affectionately refers to him as “Kuni-chan”, from his real name Kunio.
Wedding Plans for 2026
The couple plan to hold their wedding ceremony and reception in early summer 2026, surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues from both the Kabuki and entertainment worlds.
Hashinosuke said earnestly,
“From now on, I’ll continue to treasure my audience, my family, my friends, and of course, Aimi. I want to build a warm and happy home with her.”
Nojo also expressed her gratitude,
“I’m so thankful to everyone who has supported me all this time. I’ll do my best to support Hashinosuke and stand proudly by his side.”
