Mandy Ma Xiaomei, the new wife of businessman Wang Xiaofei, has sparked discussion after openly praising the late Barbie Hsu during her recent livestream. Instead of the usual gossip surrounding blended families, Mandy took a completely different route, offering warm words about her stepchildren and their upbringing.
According to Mandy, Barbie Hsu raised her children with great care. She shared that the younger child is incredibly well-behaved, never causing trouble and always acting politely whenever they are around her. Mandy described the child as thoughtful, considerate, and surprisingly mature.
She recalled that whenever she asked whether the child wanted to go somewhere, the reply would always be considerate: they would only go if Mandy also wanted to.
For Mandy, that level of awareness shows a deep understanding of respecting others, sometimes even more than certain adults.
Mandy also explained that the child is very calm and easy to get along with.
If one day the child appears less friendly or distant, Mandy suggested it usually means someone has crossed a line or made the child uncomfortable.

Mandy’s Own Approach to Family Life
During the same livestream, Mandy also talked about her pregnancy and the realities of joining a high-profile family. Despite marrying into wealth, she insisted she has no intention of becoming a decorative figure.
According to her, she has always believed that being self-reliant is important, especially now that she is expecting a child.
She stressed that she decided to have her baby because she genuinely wanted to, and that she will take responsibility for raising the child herself.
Mandy revealed that after giving birth, her own mother and a nanny will help care for the baby. She also made it clear that whether they are in Beijing or Taipei, her mother can come over to assist, and her father is also capable of helping.
Throughout the discussion, Mandy never once mentioned Wang Xiaofei’s mother, Zhang Lan, which fans quickly picked up on.
In a rare moment of openness, Mandy even brought up Barbie Hsu on her own initiative — not to criticise, but to compliment.
She said that during Barbie’s lifetime, the two got along well, and Barbie once personally asked her to look after Little Linlin and Little Yue’er. Mandy said she has always tried to honour that request.
