Idol Group Producer Floats Unusual Plan to Handle Repeat Rule-Breaker (Photo: Maison de Queen)

Japanese idol group Maison de Queen has sparked lively discussion online after publicly addressing an ongoing issue with a persistent fan who had already been banned from attending their events.

The group released an official notice on 17 November, after staff spotted the same individual casually watching their performance near the front row at the multi-group live event HYPE IDOL! in Shibuya.

The incident caused a stir partly because the event wasn’t hosted by Maison de Queen’s own management.

With multiple acts and large staff teams involved, controlling the audience is far trickier than at a solo show — making it easy for banned individuals to slip in unnoticed.

Maison de Queen Issues Public Notice After Banned Fan Found Near Front Row

Official Statement: “A Serious Violation That Cannot Be Overlooked”

In their announcement, the group explained that the man had already been issued an entry ban but still managed to attend and position himself close to the front. The management stressed that this behaviour:

  • Clearly violates previously communicated rules

  • Risks causing discomfort and confusion to the members and surrounding guests

  • Is being treated as a serious problem by the company

They confirmed the ban will continue, stating the individual is prohibited from all forms of entry, contact, viewing, or waiting around venues

If similar incidents occur again, the team will consult with relevant parties and take whatever action is deemed necessary.

Fans were also urged to report anything suspicious to nearby staff or security immediately, as the group prioritises the safety of both performers and audiences.

Producer’s Personal Response Goes Viral: “We’ll All Stand Beside Him”

In a follow-up post, the group’s producer jumped in with a surprisingly candid — and slightly tongue-in-cheek — comment about how they plan to respond if the fan repeats the behaviour.

Because Maison de Queen often appears at taiban (multi-group) events, it’s difficult to ensure perfect enforcement of bans across different organisers.

The producer admitted the team can’t realistically police every corner of every shared stage event.

So instead, he suggested a rather bold workaround:

“If he tries to get into the front row again, the staff — including me — will surround him and enjoy the show with him. I’ll go right up to where the banned one is. I’ll stand by that ‘kid’ myself.”

This unexpected “counter-move” immediately caught the attention of fans online.

Some found the imagery hilarious, joking that they almost want to see it happen just for the spectacle of a banned fan quietly surrounded by a ring of staff members.

Others, however, raised more practical concerns. Fans pointed out that:

  • Enforcement at multi-group events is naturally difficult

  • Issues around ticket refunds or event policies could arise

  • If the situation escalates, more formal restrictions might be needed

Some commenters even questioned whether certain legal measures might apply if someone repeatedly ignores an official ban.

While many fans were amused by the producer’s playful approach, others expressed worry about the long-term effectiveness of bans at third-party events.

The community remains divided — some are cheering on the bold response, while others hope management will consider more solid systems moving forward.
