Chinese actress Lou Xinyue has recently taken to social media to share a rather uncomfortable encounter she had during what was meant to be a simple night out with a friend in Beijing. The incident happened on 9 November, but she only uploaded the full video recounting the story on 23 November, sparking fresh discussion among netizens.
According to Lou, she and her friend were quietly enjoying their drinks at a bar when a foreign man seated two stools away briefly greeted them. They responded with a polite nod — nothing more than standard courtesy.
A short while later, a staff member approached and explained that the man was the bar’s regular singer.
Things took an odd turn when the staffer repeatedly encouraged Lou and her friend to move seats and sit next to him.
Lou Xin Yue said she declined several times, keeping her tone polite throughout, but the requests kept coming as if her refusal was being brushed aside.

Eventually, she had enough.
Lou Xinhue firmly stated that she had no intention of moving and would consider filing a complaint if the staff continued to bother them.
Instead of backing off gracefully, the staff member reportedly pulled a cold face and responded with a dismissive, “Sorry, maybe I misunderstood.”
At that point, Lou Xinyue and her friend were already fed up. Feeling disrespected and uncomfortable, they decided to leave the bar early.
Lou Xinyue later expressed her frustration, saying she felt the staff were not respecting women’s choices and were treating customers like something that could be casually “offered around”.
Her video quickly picked up traction online, with many viewers agreeing that the situation sounded inappropriate and unprofessional.
For those who may not know her, Lou Xinyue is a mainland Chinese actress best known for her roles in dramas such as “Go Ahead” and “The Glory” (also known by its Chinese title “雁回时”).
