KissBee Issues Firm Response Following Skirt Misconduct Case at Live Performance

Japanese idol group KissBee has released a formal statement after an incident at a recent event, where an attendee was found photographing up the skirts of members. The case has drawn sharp attention online, not only for the behaviour itself but also for the legal outcome that followed.

According to the group’s management, staff on site immediately questioned the individual when the act was spotted, and he admitted to what he had done. Police were contacted on the spot.

However under current Japanese law, the incident did not fall under the legal definition of voyeurism, meaning the individual was not detained.

Even so, KissBee’s management has taken a strict internal stance.

The person involved has been permanently banned from all future KissBee events, fan meetings, and appearances.

The agency stressed that while the law did not classify the act as a criminal offence, it was a serious breach of conduct that endangered the safety and comfort of their performers.

In their official notice, management stated that they are “deeply troubled” by the incident and will be strengthening entry procedures at future events.

They added that any similar behaviour going forward will result in decisive action, including legal measures where applicable.

Fans were also asked to avoid speculating about or directly mentioning the affected members online.

Member Ooe Rena later addressed the situation on her personal account, expressing disappointment that such an incident occurred during what should have been an enjoyable time with supporters.

She urged fans to help maintain a safe and respectful environment at all future gatherings.

The incident has sparked debate across Japanese social media, with many questioning the legal loophole that prevented authorities from taking further action.

Comments ranged from disbelief to concern that similar situations could occur elsewhere if not properly addressed.

KissBee, active since 2014 and currently a six-member group, has affirmed that performer safety will remain its top priority moving forward, promising continued strict monitoring to ensure fans and artists alike can enjoy events with confidence.
