| Ken Chu Breaks Down Mid-Performance At Yangjiang Solo Concert After F4 Exit Rumours |
Taiwanese singer-actor Ken Chu returned to the stage on 15 November for his solo concert in Yangjiang, Guangdong, marking his first major public appearance since confirmation that future F4 reunion activities would go ahead without him. What was meant to be a fresh new chapter quickly turned emotional when the former boy-band member broke down in tears mid-song, catching the audience completely off guard.
The concert, titled Starting Point of the Beginning, had already drawn attention as Ken’s first show since B’in Music officially stated that the upcoming F4 reunion tour would proceed as “F3”. His name was not included in the line-up, prompting waves of debate among long-time fans who had been hoping for a full four-member comeback for the group’s 25th anniversary next year.
On Saturday night, Ken Chu walked onto the Yangjiang City Gymnasium stage after sharing a brief backstage livestream showing his make-up and pre-show preparations.
He spoke little during the stream and seemed focused on getting ready for the performance.
Once the show began, he delivered a mix of solo tracks alongside well-loved favourites such as Swivel Wood and a cover of Can’t Help Falling in Love.
But the most nostalgic moment arrived when he performed F4 classics like Meteor Rain.

The crowd immediately joined in, filling the venue with a warm, almost homelike buzz of early-2000s memories.
The atmosphere shifted when Ken began singing Qi Qin’s iconic It’s About in Winter. Midway through the ballad, he suddenly lost control of his emotions.
He bent forward, covering his face with a towel, struggling to continue while his voice cracked.
Fans responded with waves of applause and quiet words of encouragement until he was able to steady himself again. It was easily the night’s most striking moment.
This emotional collapse follows weeks of intense discussion surrounding his absence from the F4 reunion plans.
Mainland media previously reported that Ken had been removed from the tour roster after multiple livestream incidents where he allegedly revealed details about new music and touring ideas earlier than scheduled.
The situation sparked speculation that these slip-ups may have caused internal tension, though neither Ken nor the remaining members have commented directly.
B’in Music has since confirmed that the reunion tour will proceed with three members and is expected to kick off in Shanghai in December.
The company noted that Mayday’s Ashin is heavily involved in the production and creative planning for the shows, working closely with the remaining trio.
Despite the surrounding noise, Ken’s Yangjiang concert eventually carried on smoothly after his brief emotional pause.
He wrapped up the night with a set of original tracks including Starting Point, The Most Beautiful Bride, and Over Mountains and Rivers, signalling his commitment to forging ahead musically even as public conversations about F4 continue.
After the show, he posted a simple message alongside photos from the venue: “An unforgettable night.”
Fans echoed the sentiment online, praising his honesty on stage and expressing hope that this solo chapter will bring him renewed confidence and momentum.
