| 17-Year-Old Idol Fujisaki Azu Announces Departure from Heroines Kenkyusei Following Apology |
Japanese idol scene got a sudden shock this week as Fujisaki Azu (藤咲あず), a 17-year-old trainee from Heroines Kenkyuusei, announced her immediate withdrawal from the group after what was officially described as a “major contract violation.”
Her departure, made public through the group’s official Twitter account on 4 November 2025, sent fans into a spiral of speculation.
While the company’s statement didn’t go into detail, several reports and fan replies hinted that the issue might involve a romantic relationship — a move that’s still taboo in the Japanese idol industry.
The Apology and the Aftermath
Shortly after the agency’s announcement, Fujisaki Azu herself posted an apology on Twitter, expressing deep regret for her “careless behaviour.”
“I sincerely apologise for my thoughtless actions that hurt the fans, members, and everyone involved. Thank you so much for everything up until now. I am truly sorry,” she wrote.
この度は私の軽率な行動によりファンの皆さま、メンバー、関係者の方々を傷つけてしまい本当に申し訳ございません。今までありがとうございました。本当に申し訳ございませんでした。 https://t.co/emBZkK61a7

Her message didn’t directly mention the violation either, but it came just as photos allegedly linked to her began circulating online — one showing her reflection alongside a man, another of her holding snacks and drinks that fans claimed matched those in the other person’s post.

Even though no clear photo confirmed the rumour, the minor details alone were enough to spark heated debate across the fandom.

Viral. Apparently, a reflection of someone can be seen on the lid of the plastic cup (the one with the drink)… It’s probably just a reflection though…

Official Statement from Management
The management company Imaginate Inc., which oversees the Heroines collective (including the well-known unit iLiFE!), released an official note:
“We have confirmed a major contract violation by member Fujisaki Azu. As such, she will be withdrawing from the group effective 4 November 2025. We kindly ask fans to refrain from speculation, direct contact, or any form of harassment related to this matter.”
They also apologised to fans for the sudden news, promising the remaining members and staff would continue working hard to respond to fans’ support.

From Rising Star to Sudden Exit
Fujisaki Azu joined HEROINES Kenkyuusei and the combined HEROINES group on 17 April 2025, quickly gaining a solid fanbase thanks to her cheerful stage presence and bright personality.
However, her journey ended abruptly just seven months later due to the controversy.
While idols facing such scandals isn’t new, the speed of her removal shows how strictly agencies still uphold the “no-dating” rule, aiming to maintain the group’s image of innocence and devotion to fans.
According to reports, Fujisaki Azu will remain under suspension until her planned graduation in March 2026, marking a quiet end to what could have been a promising career.
Despite the backlash, some fans online have shown sympathy, saying she’s still young and deserves a second chance in the future — possibly outside the rigid idol system.
For now, though, Heroines Kenkyuusei moves forward without one of its brightest rookies, closing yet another chapter in the ever-watchful world of Japanese idols.
