Is the F4 Reunion Happening Without Ken Chu? ‘F3’ Comeback Rumours Stir Controversy

Taiwan’s legendary idol group F4 is once again in the spotlight — but this time, it’s not for a sweet nostalgia moment.

Rumours are swirling that the long-awaited F4 reunion might actually go ahead without one of its original members, Ken Chu, leaving fans a bit confused and divided.

According to recent reports, Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, and Vanness Wu are allegedly forming a new unit called “F3”, preparing to release a brand-new single and kick off a world tour

The first stop is reportedly set for Shanghai’s Mercedes-Benz Arena, where the trio is said to be planning three consecutive shows in December — with Mayday’s Ashin reportedly joining as the concert producer.

However, the absence of Ken Chu didn’t go unnoticed.

On 10 November, Ken Chu’s team gave a brief response to local media, saying, “We also don’t know exactly what’s going on.”

When pressed further on whether he’s involved in the reunion preparations, they added, “We can’t reveal anything for now.”

The statement only fuelled more speculation.

Earlier this year, whispers about a possible F4 comeback concert had already made the rounds, but insiders hinted that “major changes” to the project were underway — including the possibility that the production team had to “exclude Ken Chu” from the lineup.

Music label B’in Music, which reportedly handles the concert planning, confirmed that Ashin is involved in both music and concert production.

They noted, “He’s been giving a lot of creative input and ideas during meetings. The three members have also participated in planning the overall concept. Everything is being prepared with the highest quality standards — please stay tuned for the official announcement.”

This comes after the surprise mini F4 reunion during Mayday’s “5525 Back to That Day” concert in July 2025 — the group’s first public appearance together after a 16-year hiatus.

That brief stage moment reignited hopes among fans for a proper reunion and new music.

However, sources claimed that internal miscommunication (and some accidental leaks by Ken) may have temporarily stalled the original comeback plans.

Now that the “F3” comeback rumour is taking shape, fans are once again split — some excited to see the trio performing together, others voicing disappointment that Ken Chu might be left out of what could be a historic F4 return.

As of now, no official statements have been made by Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, or Vanness Wu themselves.

But one thing’s for sure — whether it’s F4 or F3, the nostalgic wave is hitting hard across Asia, and everyone’s watching to see how this drama unfolds.
