Japanese idol group #BABABABAMBI (#ババババンビ) has officially announced that the group will disband in March 2026, bringing their six-year run to a close. The news was shared via their official website on 27 November, marking the end of one of the most recognisable all-female idol units under 01familia.

In the announcement, the management explained that the decision came after extensive discussions between all members and the team.

According to the statement, everyone involved agreed that the group had reached a meaningful milestone and that it was the right moment to “conclude the story on a beautiful note”.

Why BABABABAMBI Group Is Disbanding

The announcement stressed that the disbandment is not tied to any negative developments.

Instead, it reflects a mutual decision aimed at respecting each member’s future ambitions.

Management highlighted that each member has personal goals and plans for the next stage in their career, and the company wanted to honour those directions.

“After reaching the six-year mark, we confirmed our shared intention to end the group’s journey with care and positivity,” the statement said.

#BABABABAMBI’s final performance will be held in March 2026, with ticketing details still in the works. The group assured fans that they are preparing a show worthy of their six-year legacy.

“We will give everything we have until the very end,” the group wrote, thanking longtime supporters for standing by them through every stage, from online events to their breakthrough concerts.

Formed in 2020, #BABABABAMBI originally grabbed attention for their striking visuals and high-energy concept, often described as “Japan’s most lively chaos” by fans. Their official name — a playful, purposely chaotic creation — reflects their ethos: even when life gets tough, they want to create moments of joy.

Their debut was postponed due to the global health crisis, forcing them to start their career with no-audience performances, livestreams, and digital outreach.

Despite the rocky start, they pushed forward, eventually performing at major festivals, selling out solo live shows, and even taking the stage at Nippon Budokan.

The group’s present five-member formation includes:

  • Kishi Miyu – Red (Founding member)

  • Takanashi Rui – White (Founding member)

  • Kondo Saeko – Purple (Joined 2021)

  • Usa – Pink (Joined 2021)

  • Kannami Rina – Green (Joined 2024)

Across all generations, the group has amassed over 4 million social media followers, reflecting its solid fanbase both in Japan and overseas.

BABABABAMBI Disbandment

In their statement, #BABABABAMBI reflected on their path from a pandemic-affected debut to large-scale tours and media appearances.

They acknowledged the ups and downs, expressing gratitude to fans who supported them even when things became unpredictable.

They also thanked industry partners, production teams, and the media for backing the group through multiple transitions and member changes.

While the group will officially end activities in March 2026, individual members are expected to share personal messages and future plans in the coming months.

For now, the team is focused on delivering a final performance that captures everything #BABABABAMBI has built — the noise, fun, and one-of-a-kind atmosphere that defined their identity from the start.

Fans can expect more details on the final live soon.
