Chinese actress Yang Chaoyue has opened up about the rather unexpected path that led her into the idol world – and it all started with something as simple as wanting to earn a bit more money.

In a recent chat, Yang Chaoyue admitted that her first motivation was straightforward. 

After I started working, my goal was very clear. I wanted to make money, and I wanted to make more. So I looked online for new jobs that might give me a chance to change my situation.”

At the time, livestreaming was booming, and modelling seemed like a realistic option.

She was keen to give both a shot, hoping they could bring her stability. But fate clearly had other plans. 

I ended up joining a girl group without even realising it,” she laughed.

Before fame, Yang Chaoyue juggled all sorts of work – from waitressing in restaurants to trying out as a livestreamer and model. 

Then came a turning point: she auditioned for a girl group purely for a 2,000 yuan payment. 

What seemed like just another job ended up becoming her big break.

That small step snowballed into something massive.
