Wang Yibo Clinches 2nd Place at Shanghai Endurance Race |
Shanghai’s motor circuit was absolutely buzzing on 8 October 2025, as Wang Yibo — yes, the same multi-talented actor and singer — hit the track for the Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race, proving once again that he’s more than just a pretty face on screen.
Behind the wheel of an Audi R8 LMS GT3 numbered #85 and wrapped in striking pink-and-purple livery, Yibo teamed up with Uno Racing Team, taking on some of Asia’s best endurance racers.
And he didn’t disappoint.
Despite an early knock from a car behind that sent smoke billowing from his rear tyre, Wang Yibo stayed cool-headed, calmly easing off speed and pitting safely before getting back into rhythm.

During his 90-minute driving stint, the idol-turned-driver pulled off an impressive climb — steering from 9th overall up to 2nd, with clean, confident laps that earned nods from both fans and race commentators.
Uno Racing ultimately secured Runner-Up in the GT3 Pro-Am category and 9th overall, a result that many called Yibo’s strongest professional performance yet.
More than 40,000 spectators packed the stands at Shanghai International Circuit, and you could practically feel the fandom energy — a dazzling sea of green, Yibo’s signature support colour, taking over the crowd. Around 95% of attendees were reportedly there just for him.
The celebration after the race was another viral moment altogether.
As the Uno team popped champagne on the podium, Wang Yibo instinctively ducked into the corner — but not fast enough.

Cameras caught the moment he was sprayed head to toe, making fans laugh online with captions like, “He dodges champagne like he dodges tight corners!” and “Our class topper just got baptised by bubbles!”
Still, he took it like a champ, smiling and even sipping a bit of the champagne before sharing the win with his teammates — a scene that quickly shot up trending lists on Weibo.
What makes this milestone sweeter is how hard-earned it was.
Insiders shared that Wang Yibo underwent 42 days of closed training ahead of the race, preparing for cockpit heat reaching 50°C and perfecting his lap consistency.

In qualifying, he even managed to break his own fastest lap times multiple times — a sign of solid progress in his motorsport career.
CCTV Sports and several state media outlets later praised his performance as a “hardcore transformation from top idol to professional racer.”
From flying straight from Paris Fashion Week to conquering Shanghai’s high-speed circuit, Wang Yibo once again proved that whether it’s style or speed, he’s got it handled.
