Fans Worldwide Demand Transparent Probe into Yu Menglong’s Death

The sudden passing of Chinese actor Yu Menglong, who reportedly fell from a height, has continued to dominate conversations across social media — and now, a global petition demanding justice for him has crossed a major milestone.

Despite local authorities declaring no foul play in their official statement, public scepticism hasn’t died down.

Instead, the outcry has only intensified, pushing fans and human rights supporters around the world to take action.

566,000 Signatures and Counting

An international petition titled “Justice for Yu Menglong” has been launched via the global NGO platform AVAAZ, calling for a fair and transparent investigation.

As of 3:45 PM (Taiwan time) on October 23, the petition had already amassed over 566,373 signatures — a huge jump from just a few days ago when it hovered around the 400,000 mark.

The bilingual petition (in both English and Chinese) raises concerns about possible inconsistencies in the official explanation, pointing to video evidence that allegedly suggests Yu Menglong’s death may have involved coercion, violence, or forced consumption of alcohol or substances.

Key Demands from Supporters

The organisers have outlined three specific calls to action:

  1. Launch an independent and transparent investigation to determine the true circumstances behind Yu Menglong’s death.

  2. Hold accountable any individuals involved if evidence of criminal conduct surfaces.

  3. Offer public apology and proper support — both legal and psychological — to Yu’s family.

They’ve also urged global watchdogs, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, to pay attention to the case, stressing the broader issue of entertainer safety and working conditions in the industry.

“Justice Won’t Appear on Its Own”

In their latest statement, the petition’s organisers reminded the public that “Justice will not appear on its own; it requires collective effort from society.”

They encouraged everyone who values truth, fairness, and human dignity to make their voices heard.

“Yu Menglong wasn’t just an entertainer,” one line reads, “he was someone chasing his dreams in a system that should protect, not silence, its artists. We owe it to him — and to all others like him — to ensure the truth is never buried.”

This ongoing wave of solidarity shows how Yu Menglong’s death has become more than a celebrity tragedy — it’s now a symbol of transparency, justice, and accountability that continues to rally thousands around the world.
