ONE OK ROCK Bassist Ryota and Wife Michelle Lavigne Confirm Divorce in Joint Statement

ONE OK ROCK’s bassist Ryota has announced that he and his wife, Michelle Lavigne, are parting ways after seven years of marriage.

On 30 September, Ryota shared a joint statement via Instagram, written in both Japanese and English, confirming the split.

The message, co-signed by Michelle, who is known as the younger sister of Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne, explained that although the pair had shared many years together, they had decided to walk different paths as a married couple.

We’ve spent a long time together, but we’ve chosen to go our separate ways as husband and wife. Our relationship may change shape, but as parents, we’ll continue to support one another,” the statement read.

Despite the end of their marriage, both Ryota and Michelle Lavigne stressed that family remains their priority.

They promised to remain united in raising their daughter, who was born in October 2017, just months after their February wedding that same year.
