Yu Menglong’s Alleged Autopsy Report Sparks Online Debate Over Credibility

The passing of Chinese actor Yu Menglong on 11 September has continued to stir debate online, after a screenshot claiming to be his official autopsy report began circulating across social media — though many netizens now believe it could be fake.

According to a report by Star EBC, the image first appeared on Weibo and claimed that the autopsy was commissioned by the Jiangtai Police Station in Chaoyang District, Beijing.

The document listed the case acceptance date as 13 September 2025 and the determination date as the 14th, supposedly carried out at Beijing Shengtang Judicial Appraisal Institute, Autopsy Hall 1.

Online Outcry Over “Fake” Autopsy Report Following Yu Menglong’s Death

The text stated that the deceased was Alan Yu Menglong, 37, and detailed several injuries — including skull trauma, rib fractures, pericardial effusion, liver tears, and scratches on the lower body — with the cause of death “likely related to trauma in certain areas.”

However, netizens were quick to question the document’s credibility.

Netizens Demand Official Clarification After Yu Menglong Report Controversy

Some pointed out that whole sections of the text appear identical to unrelated medical records circulating years earlier.

Others noted that the report’s format and wording resembled a 2012 autopsy document, suggesting it may have been copied.

Adding to the doubts, earlier coverage indicated that Yu’s family had only received his ashes, with no confirmation that the body was publicly seen.

This raised serious questions about where the alleged report originated.

As speculation spread, many online users called for restraint, urging others not to share or repost unverified files until an official clarification is issued by authorities or family representatives.

Despite public frustration over the limited transparency of the case, others warned that the spread of unconfirmed documents could only fuel confusion and misinformation during a sensitive time.
