Huo Minghao & Lu Yuxiao’s ‘Love in the Clouds’ Premiere Draws Buzz, Fans Divided on Vocal Delivery

The new Chinese fantasy drama Love in the Clouds (入青雲) kicked off on 8 October 2025 with a promising start — and a bit of controversy. 

Starring Huo Minghao and Lu Yuxiao, the series launched its first four episodes in one go, instantly making waves across streaming charts and social platforms.

The show grabbed an impressive 4.4% market share on day one, ranking eighth among all ongoing dramas at the time. 

Its popularity score jumped from 6883 to 8000 overnight, showing that viewers are quickly warming up to its fast-paced plot and sizzling chemistry between the leads.

Fans online praised the energy and natural banter between Huo Minghao and Lu Yuxiao — calling their interactions “electric” and “refreshing”. 

However, some audiences pointed out that Lu Yuxiao’s original voice in certain scenes sounded “unclear” or “too airy”, sparking discussions about whether the production should’ve opted for professional dubbing to improve clarity.

Despite the chatter, most viewers agreed the overall performance was emotionally engaging.

Set in the mystical Xu Liu world, the story follows Ji Bozai (Huo Minghao), a fierce fighter from Jixing Abyss seeking revenge, and Ming Yi (Lu Yuxiao), a skilled female warrior disguised as a man to uncover the truth behind a deadly poison. 

After Ji Bozai defeats Ming Yi during the legendary Qingyun Tournament, she adopts a new identity — posing as a dancer to get closer to him.

As their lives intertwine, the two navigate hidden rivalries and grand conspiracies that threaten the six realms, slowly developing trust, attraction, and eventually, love.

One moment that had the internet laughing was when Ming Yi, while pretending to be innocent, surprised Ji Bozai with a cheeky neck bite during a light-hearted confrontation in the kitchen. 

Fans adored the playful dynamic, describing it as “the spark that sells the whole show”.

Another trending clip shows Ji Bozai lifting Ming Yi onto a table — a scene that struck just the right balance between tension and humour, perfectly encapsulating the duo’s teasing chemistry.

Love in the Clouds manages to deliver a polished mix of action, mystery, and romance, all wrapped in a beautifully designed fantasy setting. 

While the debate over voice performance remains, the show’s engaging storylines and visual flair keep it firmly on viewers’ must-watch lists.
