Hong Kong actors Terrance Lau Chun Him and Cecilia Choi Sze Wan have officially tied the knot after six years together. 

Their agency announced the joyful news on 14 October, confirming that the pair held a simple yet elegant wedding ceremony in Japan, marking a new chapter in their lives.

The couple also shared a set of dreamy wedding photos, accompanied by the heartfelt caption, “Thank you God for loving us. We are married!” — a post that instantly lit up social media with messages of love and congratulations.

Terrance Lau and Cecilia Choi first met back in 2020 while filming the romantic movie Beyond the Dream. 

What began as on-set chemistry soon blossomed into a genuine relationship that’s now stood strong for six years.

Their wedding photos, shot in Tokyo, carry a timeless and retro charm — perfectly reflecting their calm, grounded connection. 

The soft tones, minimalist setup, and natural smiles say it all: this is a couple that has always valued warmth over flashiness.

Following Terrance’s massive success after Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In (Kowloon City), the actor has become one of Hong Kong’s most bankable names. 

With endorsement deals ranging from supplements to insurance brands, reports suggest his commercial value has soared beyond HK$2.6 million per contract — not too bad for someone once called “the quiet actor from Tai Po.”

Naturally, fans began to wonder if the newlyweds might settle down in the Tai Po district, a place Terrance often calls his “sanctuary.” 

Having grown up in Fu Shin Estate, he once said he loves Tai Po’s laid-back, “slightly countryside” vibe — where he can grab pork chop noodles at a local market or take a quiet stroll by the seaside park.

However, sources suggest that given the couple’s increasingly international careers — with Cecilia soon starring in the Korean film Bluefish (청어) — buying a grand mansion in Tai Po might not be the most practical move. 

Renting a cosy spot there, on the other hand, could offer flexibility while keeping them close to home.

While many celebrity weddings are lavish, the Lau–Choi union feels refreshingly grounded. 

No over-the-top gowns or grand hotel banquets — just two talented individuals celebrating love in their own quiet way.

Even if they end up renting rather than buying in Tai Po, one thing’s for sure — the district’s property agents are already thrilled. 

Having “Mr and Mrs Lau” as local residents, even temporarily, could boost the area’s reputation as Hong Kong’s most charming suburb for creatives.
