| Aileen Tan Spills the Beans on Why Her Male Co-Stars Were Always Extra Sweet on Set |
You know it’s gonna be a laugh when Singapore’s iconic duo Aileen Tan and Pan Lingling sit down together.
The veteran actresses, both legends in their own right, jumped on The Celebrity Agency’s Burning Questions and, well, didn’t hold back one bit.
When asked who’s better at flirting, Lingling didn’t even blink: “Who would dare to flirt with me in the past?” she shot back, with that trademark sass.
To be fair, she’s been off the market since 1997, when she married local actor Huang Shinan — who, by her own admission, was the cheeky one who flirted first.
“My husband lor,” she said, laughing.
But then she doubled back, grinning: “No, actually I was the one who flirted with him!”
Meanwhile, Aileen couldn’t help but tease, saying Lingling got choped (that’s Singlish for ‘taken’) early.
But when it came to her own love life and career days, Aileen had her fair share of admirers too — and not just random blokes.
“It shouldn’t be considered flirting lah,” Aileen said with a laugh.
“It’s just that the actors I worked with would treat me better than the rest.”
No shock there. Back in the ’90s, Aileen was the sweetheart of Singapore’s screens – proper chio, effortlessly charming, and oozing charisma.
She eventually tied the knot with Hong Kong film director Gerald Lee in 2002.
Even Lingling couldn’t resist gushing over her bestie’s beauty.
“If I were a man and saw such a beautiful, who wouldn’t want to flirt with her? She was stunning, and her figure was amazing,” she said.
Cue Aileen’s cheeky reply: “So you’re saying I’m not pretty now?”
Don’t worry, Aileen – you’re still looking boss as ever. Some things just don’t fade with time, eh?
