The Hidden Love–First Frost universe is expanding yet again, this time with a modern romance that’s already building buzz before it even finishes filming.
The upcoming drama When I Meet the Moon, adapted from Zhu Yi’s popular novel Folding Moon, brings together Lin Yi and Lu Yuxiao in a love-and-loss story about second chances.
The Stars: Lin Yi and Lu Yuxiao
Lin Yi, who stole hearts back in 2019’s Put Your Head on My Shoulder, returns to campus romance territory—but with a heavier edge.
He plays Fu Shize, a brilliant doctor who carries deep psychological scars from the death of a friend.
Opposite him, Lu Yuxiao takes on Yun Li, an engineering graduate student fighting her own battles with social anxiety.
Their pairing has been dubbed one of the most promising of the season, especially with the Zhu Yi label attached.
Given the success of Hidden Love and The First Frost, both of which sparked spinoffs and even remake talks, expectations are sky-high.

The drama hasn’t even aired yet, but billing order has already become a hot topic. Lin Yi has been confirmed as top billing, which sparked complaints from Lu Yuxiao’s supporters.
Rumours and counter-rumours are flying, with accusations that Lin Yi’s team “bought” the show, while his fans claim Lu Yuxiao’s side is stirring trouble.
