Victoria Lee Misses Miss Hong Kong Crown as Mum’s Post Draws Mixed Reactions |
The 2025 Miss Hong Kong Pageant wrapped up last weekend with Stacey Devina Chan taking home the crown, while Angela Stanton and Jane Yuan secured the first and second runner-up spots.
But all eyes weren’t just on the winners—crowd favourite Victoria Lee, who many tipped as the next Miss HK, ended up missing the top three entirely.
Still, Victoria Lee didn’t leave empty-handed. The 22-year-old bagged both the Miss Friendship and Miss Photogenic titles, a double win that shows she definitely captured hearts, even if she didn’t clinch the crown.
After the results were announced, Victoria Lee’s mum, Li Anni, shared a heartfelt message online thanking fans for their support:
“We’ve accepted the outcome, and I believe it was meant to be this way. What really touched me was seeing how many people have cheered for my daughter, even after the results. That kind of support is priceless, and we’ll carry it with us”

She also noted that Victoria Lee was still young and “had more room to grow”. While intended as encouragement, some netizens criticised the phrasing as poorly chosen.
“It would’ve been better to stop at thanking the fans,” one commenter wrote. Others said Anni’s wording came across as “tone-deaf”, leading her to delete the post later in the day.
While meant as gratitude, her choice of words—especially the phrase “love and admiration”—didn’t sit well with everyone.

Some netizens argued the closing line came off awkward, even calling it “low EQ”.
Others suggested she should have left the last sentence unsaid.
The criticism grew enough that Anni eventually deleted the post to avoid more negative chatter spilling over to her daughter’s spotlight.

For those unfamiliar, Li Anni is no stranger to the entertainment circle.
She’s not only the manager and close friend of actress Candy Law, but she also keeps ties with veteran names like martial arts actor Chin Siu-ho, Wilson Tsui, and Kingdom Yuen King-tan.
Victoria Lee herself has an impressive background outside the pageant scene.
She studied music at Cheltenham College in the UK and is skilled in piano, harp, and even traditional Chinese opera—a unique blend of East and West that explains why she stood out as a fan favourite this year.
Though she may not have worn the crown, Victoria Lee’s pageant journey has given her recognition, awards, and a surge of public support. Whether she takes the route of music, acting, or further pageant challenges, her future in the limelight looks far from over.
