Misora Tanaka Issues Apology After Old “Black Company” Video Goes Viral (Yahoo JP) |
NMB48 member Tanaka Misora (21) has issued a public apology after an old video exposed online, where she jokingly described the group as a “black company.”
The short clip, filmed back in 2023 just a year after her debut, surfaced a few days ago and quickly spread across social media.
In the footage, Tanaka Misora appears to be playfully teasing, saying she’ll “drop the Misora bomb” and even pointing at the camera in mock warning.

The on-screen text added fuel by referencing NMB48 as a “black company” – a Japanese phrase used for workplaces seen as questionable or exploitative.
On 17 September, Tanaka Misora took to Twitter to share a formal written apology. In it, she said:
“Due to my careless actions, I have caused trouble and concern for all those involved and all who support me. I am deeply sorry. Everything stems from my own shortcomings, and I am reflecting on them sincerely. It will not be easy to regain the trust I have lost, but I will face everyone in my own way and act earnestly step by step.”
She added that she hopes to grow both as an idol and as a person, asking fans to continue watching over her.

Interestingly, reactions online have been mostly forgiving. Many fans encouraged her, writing things like “Don’t worry, you’re reflecting and that’s what matters. We’ll keep cheering for you.”
Others showed concern about how the private video even exposed in the first place, speculating it came from a close “real account” used among friends.

Some fans even found humour in the now-infamous “Misora bomb” phrasing, saying it could’ve worked as a fun meme if it hadn’t escaped its original context.
While the tone of the video seemed more like playful banter than a genuine exposé, its resurfacing highlights the risks idols face when private accounts or inside jokes spill into the public eye.
Tanaka Misora, who debuted with NMB48 in 2022, now faces the challenge of rebuilding trust while continuing her activities. Judging by fan comments, many are willing to give her that chance.
