Former AKB48 star Kuramochi Asuka, better known to fans as “Mocchi,” has officially announced that she will part ways with Watanabe Entertainment, the agency she’s called home for the past 15 years.

Kuramochi Asuka (36) shared the update on 28 September through her Twitter account, confirming that her exclusive contract with the agency will end on 30 September 2025.

In her post, the former idol expressed heartfelt thanks to the staff who had supported her throughout her journey, saying she was lucky to have worked with people she could truly trust. 

She reflected on the “treasured experiences” and opportunities she gained during her time at the company, describing them as a once-in-a-lifetime environment.

Although the contract is coming to a close, Asuka Kuramochi stressed that she isn’t slowing down. 

She plans to continue her current work while taking on new challenges in her career. 

Mocchi also took a moment to address her fans, thanking them for their unwavering support over the years: “The encouragement I’ve received has been a huge source of strength for me,” she wrote.

Kuramochi Asuka first joined AKB48 in 2007 as part of the group’s 4th generation. 

She was promoted to Team K in 2008 and made her mark as a selected member for the single Iiwake Maybe

Fans will remember her as one of the members who helped define AKB48’s peak years. 

After graduating from the group in 2015, she carved out her own career as a television talent and commentator, while also gaining attention for her deep passion for professional wrestling — something that made her stand out among her idol peers.
