According to the village office, Ikechan officially requested her resignation, citing "personal reasons," with her departure taking place at the end of July. The news was confirmed on the 7th of August, with her resignation sparking a wave of discussion online.

Through her YouTube subchannel Murabito Ikechan [Rural Relocation], she had documented her life in the village, showing fans the process of revitalising an old property in rural Japan.
However, things took a turn when Ikechan was caught up in an affair scandal. She was spotted on a date with Kosuke Minowa, an editor at the publishing house Gentōsha, who was married with children. The news made waves, and the following day, both Ikechan and Minowa issued public apologies on their respective YouTube channels.
Kosuke Minowa later took to Twitter, stating that the situation between his wife and the woman involved had been resolved privately, emphasising that he took full responsibility for the incident.

He added, “I’m truly sorry for causing all this confusion, and I ask that you all please stop discussing the matter further for the sake of my family.”
Since the scandal broke, Ikechan has remained quiet, with her social media accounts completely inactive after her apology video.
Her social media presence had been significant, boasting a combined following of over 300,000 across multiple platforms, including TikTok and Instagram. Despite her apology, the silence on her accounts indicates that the controversy has had a lasting impact on her online presence.
Ikechan, a graduate of Akita High School, went on to study architectural engineering in university before passing the First-Class Architect examination.

She became known as a "lone wolf" YouTuber, often posting content that showcased her independent lifestyle. In addition to her YouTube fame, she also appeared in gravure shoots, where she was known for wearing swimwear.
With nearly 900,000 subscribers across three YouTube channels and a social media following that spans various platforms, Ikechan's resignation marks a major turning point in her career. Her next steps remain uncertain, but for now, fans are left wondering whether she will make a return to the digital world or take time to reflect on her future away from the limelight.
