| Hinatazaka46’s Kawata Hina Announces Graduation, Says 15th Single Will Be Her Last |
Hinatazaka46’s sunshine girl Kawata Hina has officially announced her graduation from the group. The news came straight from her blog today, August 4, where she revealed that the group’s upcoming 15th single “Onegai Bach!” will be her final activity with the group.
Kawata Hina, affectionately known by fans as Hina, O-Hina, or KAWADA-san, first joined the group in 2017 at just 16 years old, back when it was still known as Hiragana Keyakizaka46. Fast forward eight years, she’s now 24 — and ready to start a brand new chapter.
In a heartfelt and reflective message, she shared:
“It’s all been like a dream. Honestly, even if someone told me this was all just a dream, I’d probably believe them.”

She spoke openly about how turning 24 made her think more seriously about her future and explore new paths in life. While her decision might’ve felt sudden to some fans, she hinted that maybe people had sensed it coming — especially after her birthday post, where she said she wanted to do “everything” at 24.
Kawata Hina also took time to express her deep appreciation for Ohisama (Hinatazaka46 fans), her fellow members — past and present — and everyone involved with the group.
“You all gave me the strength to keep going. Even when I felt unsure or wasn’t confident, you never stopped supporting me. You made me feel like I belonged.”

She recalled the joy of hearing fans say things like “Thanks to you, I can work harder” or “You always cheer me up,” calling them moments that made her feel it was all worth it.
With Hina Kawata’s upcoming graduation, only three members of the 2nd generation remain. She follows fellow 2nd gen member Tomita Suzuka, who graduated earlier this year in May.
Despite the bittersweet news, Kawata Hina ended her blog on a hopeful note, saying she plans to enjoy every moment of her final days as an idol.
“There’s not much time left, but I want to spend it with no regrets. I’ll treasure every second with the members I love and with you all.”
Her exact graduation date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but fans can expect “Onegai Bach!” — set to drop on 17 September — to be her official send-off. Until then, she’s not done lighting up the stage just yet.
