Kamen Joshi Pull the Plug on August 7 Show After Venue Gets Threatening Email

Fans of masked Japanese idol group Kamen Joshi had to put their glow sticks away on Thursday, as the group announced the sudden cancellation of their scheduled event for 7 August 2025.

The decision came after the venue received a suspicious email containing a criminal threat. While the group didn’t officially name the location, it’s widely believed the event was meant to take place at Akihabara PARMS, their regular performance home.

In an official statement posted to X (formerly Twitter), the group explained:

“Due to a suspicious email containing a criminal threat sent to the venue, and following consultations with the police and venue staff, we have decided to cancel the event in order to prioritise everyone’s safety.”

The message also included a heartfelt apology to fans, many of whom would have been preparing to attend that very day. “We are deeply sorry for the last-minute notice to everyone who was looking forward to the show,” the statement read.

Ticket holders won’t be left in the dark — the group assured that refund instructions will be sent directly via the booking system in due course.
