Fumi Nikaido Surprises Fans with Marriage to Comedian Kazlaser

Japanese actress Fumi Nikaido, aged 30, has officially married Kazlaser, 41, from the popular comedian duo Maple Chogokin. The surprise news was shared on both Nikaido's official website and Kazlaser’s social media on August 10, with both parties expressing gratitude to their fans and requesting privacy for their families.

Fumi Nikaido’s agency, Sony Music Artists, released a brief yet heartfelt statement: “We would like to announce that Fumi Nikaido has married Kazlaser of Maple Chogokin. She will continue her professional activities as usual and we sincerely ask for your continued support." 

The statement also politely requested the public refrain from contacting their families for interviews regarding the private matter.

Meanwhile, Kazlaser took to his social media platform X to share his thoughts on the marriage. He wrote, "I, Kazlaser, would like to announce that I have officially registered my marriage with Fumi Nikaido." 

He further expressed his excitement, saying, "Both of us are strong-willed and particular, so there will definitely be times when we clash or feel down. But ultimately, we aim to build a relaxed and cheerful home where we can smile and grow together." 

Kazlaser ended the post with a message of gratitude: "We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported and been involved with us. Going forward, we will dedicate ourselves even more to our work and live up to your expectations. Please continue to watch over us warmly."

The couple’s story began through a mutual connection, with Nikaido openly admitting on television that Kazlaser was her type. Their announcement has been met with warm support from fans and industry peers alike.

Nikaido, born in Okinawa in 1994, has enjoyed a stellar career in both acting and modelling, having won numerous prestigious awards such as the Best Newcomer Award at the Venice Film Festival for Himizu. 

Kazlaser, originally from Saitama, rose to fame as part of Maple Chogokin in 2012. He has made a name for himself as a regular MC and quiz show participant, known for his trademark blond hair and red outfits inspired by the manga Cobra.

Both Nikaido and Kazlaser have made it clear that while their personalities may sometimes clash, their shared goal is to build a loving and positive home, proving that opposites can indeed attract.
