Dylan Wang’s “27-Minute Argument” Clip Goes Viral, Studio Hits Back at Privacy Breach

Chinese actor Dylan Wang Hedi found himself at the centre of a social-media storm after a 27-minute recording surfaced online, allegedly capturing him in a heated argument with a woman many believe to be his girlfriend.

The Video That Sparked It All

The clip, titled “Dylan Wang Hedi and mysterious girlfriend argue for 27 minutes”, spread rapidly across Weibo.

In it, voices can be heard exchanging sharp words over failed communication, broken promises, and frustrations about personal matters being made public.

Some of the phrases netizens picked out included:

  • “We can’t communicate properly at all.”

  • “Don’t bring this up in front of other people again.

  • “You promised to change, but nothing has improved.”

  • “It’s your misunderstandings that make things worse.”

27-Minute Argument Between Dylan Wang Hedi and Girlfriend Sparks Online Buzz

The uploader, who went by the handle “雯忆女青_Yuki”, claimed she was originally a fan hoping to “see her idol up close” at a hotel in Xinjiang.

Instead, she allegedly stumbled upon the row outside his room, recorded the exchange, and uploaded it.

Studio’s Swift Response

By the following morning, Dylan Wang’s studio issued a stern statement.

They stressed that “illegally obtaining, filming, recording, exposing, posting, or selling personal information is a serious violation of the law”, warning the uploader to immediately stop all intrusive behaviour.

Interestingly, the studio did not address the identity of the woman in the recording or confirm whether the argument involved Dylan Wang himself.

Fan Fallout and Legal Opinions

The so-called fan later admitted she had booked into the same hotel after finding out Wang’s whereabouts online. She claimed she “walked every floor” until overhearing the argument on the 20th floor.

The clip even suggested a third person later stepped in to calm things down.

Lawyers have since weighed in. Legal experts in Sichuan and Beijing both underlined that secretly recording in hotel corridors—especially when it involves private conversations inside a room—may constitute an invasion of privacy.

Victims could, in theory, demand a public apology, compensation, and legal action if the material damages their reputation.

Dylan Wang Studio Warns Against Sasaeng Behaviour After Viral Argument Recording

As one lawyer noted, “Even if someone insists it was recorded in a corridor, if the whole act involves following and secretly taping another person, it is still a likely infringement of privacy rights.”

While fans remain split—some speculating about his personal life, others slamming the invasion of privacy—the bigger question may be how such fan-idol boundaries are handled going forward.

For Dylan Wang, who has been in the spotlight since Meteor Garden, this controversy is less about the supposed girlfriend and more about how far fans are willing to go, and what the industry can do to protect artists from sasaeng behaviour.
