Zheng Xingyuan Fights Back Against Long-Standing Accusations Involving Zi Yu |
Zheng Xingyuan is finally breaking his silence in a big way. The former member of now-defunct boy group Guanghe Shaonian has officially denied all accusations of bullying fellow ex-member Zi Yu — and he’s not just stopping at words. He’s taking the legal route.
In a statement posted on 25 July, Zheng XingYuan responded to the long-running rumour that he had mistreated Zi Yu during their trainee days. “I’m not a bully. I stand by every word I’ve said, and I’m ready to take legal responsibility for it,” Zheng XingYuan said firmly.
📦 What Really Happened Back in 2022?
Zheng XingYuan provided a detailed breakdown of what allegedly went down in 2022 when both he and Zi Yu were still in Guanghe Shaonian. According to Zheng XingYuan, Zi Yu had taken time off to return to his hometown for personal reasons. During that absence, the team continued training for a new song, leaving Zi Yu’s spot open for the time being.
However, drama started brewing the day before the group’s MV shoot.
Zheng XingYuan claimed that Zi Yu returned and demanded the centre position — despite not having participated in recent rehearsals. The request was denied. Even so, Zi Yu allegedly insisted on standing in the centre during practice, “without moving or cooperating with the rest of the team,” said Zheng XingYuan.
Feeling things weren’t going right, Zheng XingYuan said he stepped up to help correct Zi Yu’s position — and that’s when things got physical.
“There was some mild physical contact, but we were quickly separated by our teammates. We both had minor bruises. I apologised the next day, in front of everyone, to keep the team united,” Zheng XingYuan shared.
🛡️ Three Years of Silence, Now Ready to Speak
After facing years of online hate and being painted as the "bully," Zheng XingYuan said he’s finally had enough. “I’ve been protecting myself quietly all this time. Now I’m using legal means to deal with the situation — I won’t back down,” he said.
Interestingly, Zheng XingYuan isn't the only one speaking up.
🗣️ Ex-Teammate Ying Chenxi Also Steps In

Former teammate Ying Chenxi also broke his silence, releasing a heartfelt post. He stood by Zheng and firmly denied ever witnessing any bullying behaviour. Instead, he clarified that the conflict was simply a disagreement during practice — no more, no less.
“When Zheng XingYuan apologised in front of everyone the next day, Zi Yu didn’t say a word. He acted like he had nothing to reflect on,” Ying shared. “I even asked ZiYu why he wasn’t respecting his team or the work we were all doing together.”
Ying also revealed the emotional toll of being labelled a “bully accomplice” online. “For three years, I was abused online. People said I supported bullying — all because of a rumour. That rumour didn’t just hurt me, it changed the course of all our lives.”

💔 Idol Dreams Lost?
Both Zheng XingYuan and Ying Chenxi admitted that the fallout from the accusation essentially crushed the team’s shot at debuting properly.
“We were just trainees trying to chase our dreams. There were nine of us. But in the end, none of us made it,” Ying Chenxi wrote.
📢 Zheng Xingyuan’s Final Words
With legal proceedings already underway, Zheng XingYuan made it clear that he won’t tolerate being falsely accused any longer. “I’ve been wrongly attacked for too long. This time, I’m standing up — not just for me, but for the truth.”
