Weibo Crowned Asia’s Best Social Media Platform 2025

Weibo Secures Double Win at Asia Top Award 2025
Music Division Also Bags Cross-Cultural Award in Thailand

Chinese social media giant Weibo has just bagged a major win at the Asia Top Award 2025, coming out on top as the Best Platform of Asia. Hosted by Thailand’s Authority of Tourism and Sports, the award show highlights key players driving growth and innovation in the region — and this year, Weibo took centre stage.

Not stopping at just one win, Weibo Music also snapped up the title of Best Cross-Cultural Music Communication Platform, thanks to its increasing role in bridging global music industries, especially between China and Southeast Asia.

The awards were accepted on-site in Bangkok by Wang Ran, General Manager of Weibo Music and the company’s Performance Division.

In her speech, she emphasised Weibo’s commitment to expanding regional partnerships — especially with Thailand, where the entertainment scene is booming.

“Thai dramas, music, and variety shows consistently see high traffic on our platform. The fanbase is super engaged and passionate,” said Wang Ran. “We’re looking forward to more collaborations with Thai artists, studios, and local partners moving forward.”

The recognition has only added fuel to Weibo’s momentum as one of Asia’s most influential digital platforms.

With millions of users and a growing footprint beyond China’s borders, Weibo continues to act as a cultural bridge — spotlighting rising stars, viral trends, and international fandoms across the continent.

Whether it’s trending Thai BL dramas, K-pop comebacks, or Chinese idol survival shows, Weibo’s become the go-to hotspot for fans to connect, stream, and share across borders. With this latest win, it looks like the platform’s gearing up for even bigger moves in the Asian entertainment sphere.
