My CEO In Disguise Ending Explained: Fake Husbands, Real Feelings & A Whole Lot of Plot Armour |
The 25-episode Tencent romance drama My CEO In Disguise has finally wrapped—and if you're anything like us, you're sitting there equal parts amused, confused, and lowkey annoyed.
What started off as a promising rom-com with undercover twists slowly unravelled into a mess of clichés, saviour syndrome, and brainless logic. But hey, at least the male lead kept us entertained with that sharp snark and CEO energy.
Here’s your full breakdown of the ending, character wrap-ups, what it all means (if anything), and whether it’s actually worth watching till the end.
💥 Quick Recap of My CEO In Disguise Final Episode
![]() |
Episode 25 kicks off with everything at stake—Su Qingyan (FL) facing another round of corporate sabotage, and Gao Feng (ML) once again stepping in like the ultimate knight in shining... delivery uniform?
With Song Haoyang pulling every dirty trick in the book to take down Haotian Group, Qingyan finds herself cornered. But lo and behold, Gao Feng reveals his actual identity as the true boss and uses his connections, money, and brain to shut everything down.
The finale then shifts gears: they team up in public, win back control of the company, and expose every villain in one go. Somehow, Shen AnAn is redeemed, kind of, and the secondary cast either vanishes or becomes irrelevant.
The drama ends with a rooftop scene (of course), where Gao Feng confesses to Qingyan again—this time, without disguises, lies, or delivery bags. She finally accepts his love, and we close on a kiss and a shared dream of rebuilding the company... and maybe their life together.
🎭 Character Wrap-Up
🧍♂️ Gao Feng / Gao Xing (Jin Xianzheng)
The real MVP. Smart, resourceful, emotionally intelligent, and armed with dry wit. Gao Feng disguises himself to investigate corruption in his own conglomerate, but ends up falling for his fake-wife-turned-real-lover. Despite never actually showing up at his office, he somehow saves everyone and does everything. Plot armour? Absolutely.
🧍♀️ Su Qingyan (Guan Xin)
![]() |
Beautiful and driven, but painfully helpless most of the time. Qingyan starts off strong, but as the show drags on, she becomes more and more dependent on Gao Feng for literally everything. Her personal growth? Questionable. Her ability to notice her husband is suspiciously connected and powerful? Non-existent.
👯 Shen AnAn (Xu Yuanyuan)
The bestie who should’ve been a proper supporting lead but ends up wearing giant bows and doing… not much. A potential side romance or redemption arc is teased but left hanging. Waste of potential, really.
🎩 Song Haoyang (Lu Jinyuan)
The villain with no depth. Greedy CEO rival who spends 25 episodes getting outsmarted and scowling at meetings. A threat on paper, but comical in execution.
🧠 Ending Explained: What Was It All About?
![]() |
On paper, My CEO In Disguise aimed to explore power dynamics, hidden identities, and modern corporate warfare with a rom-com spin. What we got instead was a drama that leaned too hard into the “CEO saves the damsel” trope, with little character progression for anyone but Gao Feng.
The ending suggests that true love conquers all—even lies, deceit, and multiple cases of workplace harassment. Qingyan’s character arc ends not with independence or redemption, but with a man solving everything for her.
In short: the moral of the story seems to be, “Get yourself a CEO in disguise, because you can’t survive on your own, love.”
Romantic? Maybe. Progressive? Not really.
✂️ TL;DR + Short Review
-
Fake marriage becomes real, undercover tycoon saves the day (again).
-
ML carries the entire show with brains and sass. FL is pretty but passive.
-
Most side characters are underused or downright annoying.
-
Final ep ends with a kiss and corporate peace, but not much growth.
-
Could’ve been brilliant with better writing for the female lead.
⭐ Tonboriday rating: 7.1/10 (and most of that goes to the ML’s cheeky grin).

🤔 FAQs
Q: Is the ending happy or open?
A: It’s technically a happy ending—company saved, love confessed—but emotionally it feels rushed and lacking closure for side characters.
Q: Do Qingyan and Gao Feng end up together for real?
Yes, by the final scene, they’re officially a real couple with no disguises or secrets.
Q: Who was the villain?
Song Haoyang played the main antagonist, trying to sabotage Qingyan’s company and reputation. He’s exposed and defeated by Gao Feng in the final episode.
Q: Does the FL ever discover the ML’s real identity?
Yes—eventually. But she never really questions it, which is frustrating. She just sort of accepts it and moves on.
Q: Is it worth watching all 25 episodes?
Depends. If you're here for a charismatic ML and enjoy classic rom-com chaos, give it a go. But if you’re after a strong FL or tight plotting… maybe not.
