Beloved Japanese actor and singer Kohei Matsushita has officially announced his marriage — and no, it’s not to anyone in the entertainment world.
The 38-year-old star dropped the happy bombshell on 27 July through his official fan club site K’s Room, where he penned a heartfelt handwritten letter to his supporters.
“Although I’m still inexperienced, I’ll continue working hard as an artist, never forgetting my gratitude to the people who support me daily — fans, co-workers, friends, and family,” Matsushita Kohei wrote. He ended the message with a simple but sincere, “Thank you for your continued support.”

While he didn’t disclose who his new bride is, his agency confirmed to Japanese media that she’s a non-celebrity. That hasn't stopped fans from pouring out warm wishes across social media, with many praising the actor for personally announcing the news to his loyal fan club members first.
Matsushita Kohei isn’t just your average pretty face on screen. After graduating from a music college, he made his debut in the entertainment industry as a singer under the name “Kohei” in 2008. He later switched gears to acting in 2009, starting out in musicals and slowly building his way up.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing — his rise to fame was marked by years of tough grind and countless auditions. But it all paid off when he finally broke through in 2019 with his standout role as Hachiro, the kind-hearted husband in NHK’s asadora Scarlet.
