Figure skater turned cover star, Honda Marin, is set to drop her very first photobook titled “MARIN” — and from the looks of it, she’s going all in on summer vibes, candid charm, and a cheeky bit of fashion improvisation.
Set to release on her 24th birthday, the photobook is being described as a deeply personal project, showcasing not just the icy elegance we know her for, but also her radiant, laid-back self off the rink.
The decision to name it “MARIN” was a natural one, as the book captures “the Marin of now” — sunny, poised, and glowing with confidence. Literally, her skin is giving serious healthy glow goals.

One of the most buzzed-about details? The cover shot was actually a bit of a happy accident. During the shoot, Marin and the crew came up with the spontaneous idea of wrapping a shirt around her like a bare-top — and bam, it worked. So well, in fact, that it replaced an originally planned cover cut.
“There were loads of contenders,” Marin shared. “I spent nearly two months mulling over the final choice. In the end, the two I couldn’t pick between became the front and back covers. Win-win!”

When it came to deciding where to shoot “MARIN”, she had one clear vision — summer. And with a name like hers (Marin, born in the summer), the tropical touch was a must. So she picked Taiwan, specifically Taichung and Kaohsiung — a combo of warm beach air, urban edge, and nostalgic corners.
Marin’s connection to Taiwan runs deep — she's visited the island many times for competitions and ice shows since childhood, so the location added a personal layer to the project.
From strolling through streets with a camera in hand, to splashing by the poolside and beach, “MARIN” plays out like a summer holiday scrapbook. There's even a graceful ballet sequence filmed in a studio, plus a few stunning hotel room scenes where she confidently shows off her toned physique — a nod to her years of athletic training and inner strength.
