It looks like love’s given Dong Xuan a second chance – and she’s bravely taking it. At a recent media screening for iQIYI’s reality show Her Prime, the 46-year-old actress made headlines as she openly confirmed that she’s tied the knot again.
“It wasn’t a decision I took lightly,” Dong Xuan shared candidly. “But after everything I’ve been through, I know what I need now — someone to share life’s responsibilities with.” She also had a message for others who’ve been hurt before: “Be brave. You deserve happiness too.”
A Younger Man and a New Start
While Dong Xuan didn’t drop any names, word on the street (and Weibo) is that her new husband is none other than 37-year-old stage and TV actor Zhang Weiyi – yup, that’s nine years younger than her. He acted in her 2023 web drama The Case Solver 3, and their rumoured romance has been swirling ever since.
Fuel was added to the fire when, in June 2025, Zhang Weiyi posted a cosy snap with Dong Xuan and her daughter, known affectionately as “Little Dimple”. It was warm, domestic, and very much giving blended family energy.
According to insider chatter, the pair registered their marriage in Datong, Shanxi on 21 June 2025 and kept things low-key with a private wedding banquet.

What’s sweeter? Dong Xuan once made a promise with her girlfriends to “only date, never marry again” – a rule she’s now happily broken. As her longtime bestie and fellow actress Tong Liya once joked, “She’d frozen her heart… but now she believes in love again.”
And What’s Going On With Her Ex, Gao Yunxiang?
For those who’ve followed Dong Xuan’s journey, you’ll remember her marriage to actor Gao Yunxiang, which began in 2011 and officially ended in 2019 after a high-profile legal scandal in Australia. Gao Yunxiang faced charges in a sexual assault case but was acquitted in 2020.
Dong Xuan stood by him throughout the ordeal, even flying to Australia and reportedly helping to post his staggering 14 million yuan bail — which led netizens to crown her “the queen of forgiveness.” But Dong Xuan later clarified: “I was acting as a mother and a wife at the time — not out of blind loyalty.”

Fast forward to 2024, and Gao appears to have moved on too. Reports say he quietly changed his name to Gao Shenghui, remarried, and welcomed another daughter.
Meanwhile, Dong Xuan’s daughter with him is now nine years old, and seems to be happily adapting to her mum’s new chapter in life.
