São Paulo plays host to a vibrant opening as the anisong wave prepares to roll through Malaysia and Thailand!
The Bandai Namco Music Live Festival made a triumphant return to Anime Friends 2025, South America’s premier anime convention, held in São Paulo, Brazil from 3 to 6 July.
Drawing more than 150,000 attendees annually, the convention welcomed the festival for a second consecutive year, cementing its reputation as a major global stage for anisong artists.
Backed by Bandai Namco Music Live—home to labels such as Lantis, SUNRISE Music, Kiramune, MoooD Records, and UNIERA—the festival brought together a diverse roster of musical acts, showcasing the global appeal of anime music.
A Strong Start: Nowlu Shines in Her Live Debut

Opening the festival with heartfelt vocals and a hint of nerves, rising artist Nowlu delivered a compelling debut performance. Starting with “Arika” from GUILTY GEAR STRIVE: DUAL RULERS and “yoin” (Wingman), Nowlu quickly won over the audience.
“I’m so happy to have my first live show here in São Paulo,” she said with a warm smile, clearly touched by the welcoming energy of Brazilian fans. Her set continued with “Stuck on you” from More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers, a slower tune that created an emotional connection with the audience before she exited to roaring applause.
ASH DA HERO’s DJ Dhalsim Brings the House Down
The crowd barely had a chance to catch their breath before DJ Dhalsim, from the band ASH DA HERO, turned up the tempo with a high-energy anisong DJ set. Tracks like “Ai♡Scream!”, “Bokura wa Ima no Naka de” (Love Live!), “Shika-iro Days” (My Deer Friend Nokotan), and the nostalgic classic “Hare Hare Yukai” (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) sparked mass singalongs and dancing throughout the venue.
“Brazil, I’m Back!” – MindaRyn Returns with Passion
Returning favourite MindaRyn stepped back onto the São Paulo stage with radiant energy.

“Brazil, I’m back!” she called out, before launching into a moving set featuring “Daylight” (Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest Season 2), “Shiny Girl” (SHY), and “Fireworks” (Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion). Her return performance was met with open arms and thunderous support.
STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION Wraps the Night with Style
Closing the opening day was none other than STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION, whose signature electronic-infused anisong sound resonated deeply with long-time fans. His dynamic stage presence and curated setlist brought the day to an exhilarating finish, leaving the audience eager for more.
Southeast Asia Set to Host Next Stages of Bandai Namco Music Live Festival

| Bandai Namco Music Live Festival to Perform in Malaysia and Thailand in Late 2025 |
Following its successful run in Brazil, the festival will now make its way to Southeast Asia, with two major stops confirmed:

Malaysia: COS-MIC 2025 at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre (Selangor) – Live performance scheduled for 13 September 2025.

Thailand: AniEx 2025 at MCC Hall, The Mall Life Store Bangkapi (Bangkok) – Live performance set for 22 November 2025.
These events are expected to carry forward the infectious energy and musical celebration seen in São Paulo, offering fans across Asia the chance to experience the heart and soul of anisong live on stage.
