Zhao Lusi has set social media ablaze yet again, all because of one cheeky little “like” that’s made a massive splash. Eagle-eyed netizens spotted Zhao dropping a like on a rather fiery post over on Xiaohongshu, where a user took aim at her agency, Galaxy Cool Entertainment, accusing them of giving special treatment to actress Meng Ziyi. And let’s just say it’s gone down like a lead balloon at Galaxy Cool HQ.

So, what’s the beef? The post Zhao liked basically ranted about how Galaxy Cool booked a whopping 10,000 cloud screenings to hype up Meng Ziyi’s new historical drama The Princess’ Gambit — giving away those screenings for free to folks who bought platform memberships or movie tickets. 

Meanwhile, Lusi’s own hits like Love Like the Galaxy and Hidden Love never got that sort of cushy push from the agency. Fans were proper gutted, saying Zhao deserved better, especially since she’s been racking up wins for Galaxy Cool left, right, and centre.

If you dig deeper, there’s a bit of a backstory here. Word is, Galaxy Cool was nearly bankrupt back in 2020, until Zhao’s breakout drama The Romance of Tiger and Rose became a smash hit and brought in big money from Alibaba Pictures. Even so, many reckon Zhao never got the top-tier treatment she deserved. Some fans went as far as claiming the agency hid Zhao’s reported struggles with depression, all while continuing to stack her work schedule to the brim. Grim, that.

By double-tapping on that scathing post, Zhao seemed to be quietly but firmly letting everyone know she’d had enough. Fans loved it, praising her guts for sticking up for herself — even if it meant stirring the pot a bit.

Of course, Galaxy Cool couldn’t just stay silent. They put out a Weibo post on June 25, 2025, replying to the fuss with just two words: “already arranged” — and slapped an OK emoji on top. That cryptic and borderline dismissive tone went down terribly, with fans piling in with savage comments like: “What exactly is arranged? A private screening for Love's Ambition?”, “Terminate the contract and pay 300,000!”, and “If it’s not a private screening, just shut up.”

Adding a bit more spice to the drama, Meng Ziyi — who, by the way, is actually signed to Yuekai Entertainment, not Galaxy Cool — recently revealed that she’d once had her birthday totally ignored by her management. But last year? They laid on a whole fancy dinner for her. 

So it’s clear her stock is rising, and Galaxy Cool, as one of The Princess’ Gambit investors, seems eager to ride her wave of success too.

In the end, Zhao’s subtle protest has opened up a proper can of worms, highlighting what fans see as deep-rooted favouritism and shoddy treatment of the very actress who kept the agency afloat. One “like” has turned into a battle cry, and the fans are definitely not backing down anytime soon.
