Meiten Confirms Disbandment Amid Management Restructuring

J-Pop Group Meiten Confirms Disbandment Amid Organisational Changes
J-Pop Idol Group Meiten to Officially Disband in August Following Internal Management Restructure

Emerging Japanese idol group Meiten (めいてん), known for its enchanting concept of “apprentice magical girl × idol”, has announced it will disband on 14 August 2025, following the group’s final solo performance at Yogibo META VALLEY

The decision, as confirmed in an official statement issued by the management on 22 June, stems from structural changes within the operating company which have made it increasingly difficult to continue the group’s activities in a sustainable manner.

Founded in June 2023, Meiten captured fans’ hearts with its whimsical concept and colourful stage presence. Although the group underwent several lineup changes over its two-year run, it remained devoted to live performances and fan engagement right to the end.

Disbandment Details and Fan Communications

In a formal statement, Meiten’s management expressed deep regret for the sudden nature of the announcement and extended heartfelt thanks to supporters who have followed the group’s journey.

It was clarified that following exhaustive internal discussions—including considerations of restructuring or transferring the group—continuing as a stable unit was ultimately deemed unfeasible.

“This was a decision reached with great reluctance. The members gave their all to every performance. Though their paths will now diverge, we sincerely hope fans will continue to support them warmly in their future endeavours,” the statement read.

Until the final curtain call, the group has pledged to carry out their remaining activities with full dedication.

Final Live Schedules and Adjustments

The group's second anniversary one-man live, titled “魔法少女は進化中” (Magical Girls Are Evolving), is scheduled for 25 June 2025 at BANANA HALL. However, reward milestones linked to ticket sales—such as a planned East-Nagoya-Osaka tour for 250 tickets and a new music video project for 300 tickets—have now been officially cancelled.

Meet-and-greet events and other fan activities will proceed as planned up until 14 August, and previously issued cheki tickets (polaroid photo sessions) will remain valid until that date. Refunds will not be offered for any unused tickets after the disbandment.

Changes to Fan Privilege Redemption

In light of the group’s limited remaining schedule, the management has updated the distribution and redemption policies regarding entry privilege tickets and special fan benefits. While current events will continue offering entry perks, future performances will no longer include such bonuses.

Fans eligible for tiered rewards—such as:

  • 40-ticket reward: a handwritten letter from your favourite member,

  • 80-ticket reward: creation of original goods,

  • 100-ticket reward: 2-shot purikura session,

  • 200-ticket reward: a two-hour outing with your oshi (favourite member)—

are requested to submit redemption requests via direct message no later than 14 July 2025.
