Video Jet Li Reunites with His 'Movie Son' Mo Tse 30 Years Later

Jet Li Gets a New Pair of Undies from Mo Tse in Iconic 30-Year Shaolin Throwback
From Kung Fu Kicks to Father’s Day Jokes: Jet Li & Mo Tse Reunite After 3 Decades Since The New Legend of Shaolin Movie (Weibo)

Talk about a full-circle moment! Martial arts legend Jet Li just had an über sweet Father’s Day reunion with his “movie son” Mo Tse — yep, the same adorable kid who kicked baddies and stole our hearts back in the ‘90s in The New Legend of Shaolin and My Father is a Hero

Fast forward three decades, and the dynamic duo are still delivering the goods — this time with a cheeky twist that had fans grinning from ear to ear.

Now 62, Jet Li might’ve swapped action sets for more peaceful days, but his bond with 41-year-old Mo Tse (also known as Miu Tse or Xie Miao) is still going strong.

The former child actor, once a pint-sized wushu prodigy, is now a full-grown martial artist and actor in his own right — still appearing in films and leading roles in web movies. But for Father’s Day 2025, the pair dialled it way back… and the internet couldn’t get enough.

💦 One Basin, Thirty Years Later

Legendary Duo Jet Li & Mo Tse Recreate Classic Shaolin Scene — 30 Years On

In a hilarious clip shared online, the two reenacted the iconic scene from My Father is a Hero where they dunk their faces in a basin of water to wash up.

Only this time, when they came back up — boom! — it’s not 1995 anymore, it’s 2025. Wrinkles, real-life roles and all. A clever cut from the original film to their present-day selves made the gag hit even harder.

But that’s not all — they doubled down on nostalgia with a throwback to The New Legend of Shaolin, where Jet’s character Hei-Kwun famously whined that he tore his only pair of underwear while washing it. Now, 300 years later (give or take…), Mo Tse’s character Man-Ting presents his “dad” with a fresh, blue pair — “It’s been a ‘cool’ 300 years! Here, put it on!”

We don’t know what’s more legendary — their fight scenes back then or the deadpan delivery now. Either way, it’s proof that the kung fu chemistry between these two never aged a day.

🤜 Nostalgia Done Right

Fans from across generations flooded the comments with love, many saying they grew up watching the pair and were now sharing the films with their own kids. Others praised the heartwarming humour and said it was refreshing to see actors reconnect like this without any over-the-top PR gimmicks. Just two legends having a laugh, reliving the glory days, and giving us all the warm fuzzies.

Mo Tse has continued working in the industry quietly over the years, and Jet Li has been more low-key recently — so this reunion felt like a rare gem. A reminder of simpler times, epic kung fu films, and the unshakeable bond of found-family onscreen.

Here’s hoping this isn’t the last time we see them back in action — even if it’s just for laughs.
