'Feud' Breaks 10K on iQIYI 2025: Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng’s Chaotic Xianxia Drama Sets 2025 Record |
It might be messy, it might be mid, but it’s a hit— Feud (临江仙), the latest xianxia fantasy drama starring Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng Shunxi, just smashed a major milestone. The drama became the first iQIYI series in 2025 to cross the elusive 10,000 heat index on the platform, officially turning heads (and rolling eyes) all across dramaland.
Now some users wrote: people aren’t exactly watching Feud because they love it. The word on the street—and in the comments—is that it’s become the ultimate hate-watch. Or as some viewers say, a "curiosity-watch", where you keep going not because you're invested, but because you just need to see how it all goes down.
And fair enough. The show’s got a pretty intense setup. Bai Lu plays an icy celestial goddess who seems to have a personal vendetta against her ex-lover, a god played by Zeng Shunxi.

He, in turn, is stuck on repeat asking her why she’s trying to kill him. Her reply? “Because you deserve to die.” Over. And over. Again. It's like a looped voice message from the heavens, and not in a good way.
Despite the emotional disconnect between the leads (and zero actual romance to speak of), the plot’s got just enough twists and mystery to keep the audience spinning on the hamster wheel. There’s a big reveal brewing—some kind of who-plotted-what conspiracy from their past—and that Sherlock Holmes energy is what’s keeping folks in their seats.
Even so, reactions have been loudly mixed. Some praise the drama’s aesthetic and the grand production scale, but many more feel the storytelling is repetitive, the chemistry ice-cold, and the emotional payoff… non-existent.
Still, Feud is winning where it counts—buzz. And that buzz has drawn the attention of its producer, Yu Zheng, who’s not exactly known for holding back. In a series of fiery social media posts, Yu Zheng clapped back at critics and suggested that all the negative reviews were simply a case of professional jealousy.

“A jealous heart—let them have it,” he wrote. “After all, there are no bitter people among those breaking 10k.”
He didn’t stop there. In the comments section, Yu Zheng added,
“Who even bothers to hate on something they’re not watching? It’s just fan circle politics. They’re afraid their own faves won’t keep up, so they attack what they can't control.”

Whether you’re on team love it, hate it, or still figuring it out, there’s no denying Feud has got people talking—and more importantly, watching.
So go ahead, spin the celestial drama wheel. Just maybe keep expectations… grounded.
