| J-Pop Idol Group Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu Celebrates “Cho Saikyou” TikTok Billion-Play Milestone with Kawasaki Show |
J-Pop’s unstoppable sweethearts, Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu, were buzzing with excitement on 25 June as they threw a lively release event in Kawasaki, celebrating their monster hit Cho Saikyou (Super Strongest) smashing through a jaw-dropping one billion plays on TikTok. The tune has been sitting pretty at the top of the TikTok music charts for three weeks on the trot, proving the group’s TikTok reign is anything but a fluke.
Around 3,000 dedicated sendenbuin (the group’s nickname for their fans) gathered to cheer them on at Lazona Kawasaki, where the girls belted out five tracks with all their usual energy and sparkle. The weather had been forecast to pour, but as member Kanami Tsujino (26) grinned, “It was meant to rain today, you know? Thanks to everyone, the sun came out!” – a moment that felt almost magical to the fans who showed up in force.

Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu, a six-member idol squad who first sparked a TikTok craze back in 2021 with Suki!, are clearly no strangers to going viral. This latest banger, Cho Saikyou, marks their third runaway TikTok success after Suki! Cho ver and Mogami ni Kawaii no! – something member Hiyori Yoshikawa (23) was proud to highlight: “Our goal this year was to have a third massive hit, and Cho Saikyou became that dream come true,” she declared with a grin.
Hinaka Sakai (23) added that when the event was first planned, the track had already crossed 100 million plays, but they were absolutely floored to see it rocket to a billion in such a short time. Meanwhile, Julia An (21) described Cho Saikyou as a proper “oshi-katsu anthem” – a song that hits home for anyone who supports their idol with passion.

Haruka Koizumi (24) couldn’t help but laugh about one cheeky lyric that stood out when she first heard the final version on the train. “There’s a line where Hinaka sings, ‘I won’t forgive you for having another girl’s trading card!’ and I just cracked up,” she admitted, before joking that any fan who tries putting someone else’s card on their phone might be playing with fire.
The excitement doesn’t end there — the group have lined up a double A-side single Heart na Mune no Uchi / Cho Saikyou for release on 27 August, with member Aiki Sugata (20) bubbling with enthusiasm: “The bit at the end where we all go ‘Yeah!’ is my favourite, and I’d love to shout it together with everyone at the live shows.”
Towards the end of the Kawasaki event, the girls made their ambitions clear — next goal, a dome concert. “That’s the stage we want to take you all to,” they told their fans, boldly setting their sights on bigger dreams. If TikTok’s billion-strong crowd is anything to go by, they might just get there sooner than they think.
