| Mrs. GREEN APPLE Dominate Billboard Japan Mid-Year 2025 with Six Songs in Top 10 |
Billboard Japan has just dropped its 2025 Mid-Year Charts, tracking from November 25, 2024 to May 25, 2025, and it’s safe to say one group has absolutely run the show. If your playlist doesn’t already have Mrs. GREEN APPLE on repeat, are you even keeping up?
Triple Crown for Mrs. GREEN APPLE!
Let’s start with the obvious – Mrs. GREEN APPLE are everywhere. Their track “Lilac” not only snatched the top spot on the Hot 100, but also ruled the Streaming Songs chart with a jaw-dropping 270 million streams. It didn’t stop there – the group’s album “ANTENNA” claimed #1 on the Hot Albums chart too. With multiple tracks peppered across the Hot 100 (including “Bitter Vacances,” “Que Sera Sera,” and “Darling”), they’ve basically built a chart empire this season.
Hot 100: Mrs. GREEN APPLE Everywhere, But Not Alone
The top 10 of the Hot 100 was flooded with Mrs. GREEN APPLE tracks, but other artists made their mark. ROSE & Bruno Mars brought an international flair to the chart with “APT.”, landing at #2. Creepy Nuts made two appearances with “Otonoke” and the ever-addictive “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” while CUTIE STREET and Omoinotake added some fresh variety.

Hot Albums wasn’t just a Mrs. GREEN APPLE playground – although they had two entries. Snow Man followed closely with their mega-compilation “THE BEST 2020 – 2025” at #2. Other highlights? Vaundy dropped two bangers (“strobo” and “replica”), and ROSE showed solo power with “Rosie”.

Top Artists: Mrs. GREEN APPLE Rule, But It’s a Packed League
On the Top Artists list, it’s no surprise Mrs. GREEN APPLE are reigning champs. But right behind them are reliable names like back number, Vaundy, Yonezu Kenshi, and YOASOBI. Big cheers for Creepy Nuts, Official HIGE DANdism, and Aimyon too – solidifying their staying power in the ever-shifting J-music world. A shoutout to global stars aespa and ROSE & Bruno Mars for slipping into the top 20 as well.

Yonezu Kenshi might’ve missed the top of the Hot 100, but he dominated Download Songs with “Plazma” hitting over 130k downloads. His other single “BOW AND ARROW” also placed high. Right behind him, once again, was Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s “Lilac” with 118k+ downloads, followed by Number_i’s explosive “GOD_i”.

Download Albums: Southern All Stars Say Thank You – and We’re Saying It Back
Southern All Stars may be veterans, but they’re not out of the game – their nostalgic collection “THANK YOU SO MUCH” topped the Download Albums chart. Close competition came from Travis Japan, Ado, and ONE OK ROCK. Even Shingo Katori made a surprise appearance with “Circus Funk”. Love to see the diversity in sound and style here.

SEVENTEEN topped the Top Single Sales chart with a massive 831k+ copies sold for “Shohikigen”. Right behind them? A fierce lineup of J-idol royalty: Nogizaka46, &TEAM, AKB48, and Sakurazaka46. The girl group scene’s still thriving, and SKE48 even sneaked into the top 10 with “Tick tack zack”.

Album Sales: Snow Man Unstoppable
Physical album sales told a different story, and it’s all Snow Man here. Their best-of compilation crossed 1.6 million copies, absolutely dwarfing everyone else. &TEAM, SixTONES, ZEROBASEONE, and JO1 followed up with strong showings, but Snow Man's dominance is undeniable. Shoutout to Kis-My-Ft2, TREASURE, and even Ae! group for rounding out the top 10 with solid fanbase support.
