So where did all the confusion come from? Some media reports claim Zhang Ruonan’s side officially denied the rumours via Weibo on April 30. But when we had a cheeky dig into her verified page? Nada. No mention of Doomsday Ten Days at all.
Instead, her post that day was addressing something totally different—allegations about rank-fixing and cast order in The First Frost (《难哄》) and Zhan Zhao Adventures (《雨霖铃》). No mention of Doomsday, no rejection, no comment. So where did the denial come from?
Turns out, the supposed denial came from fan accounts rather than Zhang Ruonan’s official team. Basically, some fans made statements that sounded real enough to fool news outlets into thinking it was gospel. Whether that was a misunderstanding or strategic PR? We’ll leave that one open.
