Aqours Concludes Final Solo Concerts After 10 Years, But Group Remains Active (Natalie.mu) |
The concert was a deeply emotional yet celebratory affair, structured not only as a musical showcase but also as a narrative reflection on Aqours’ ten-year voyage. The staging was crafted to evoke their spiritual hometown of Numazu, with a beach scene replicated on stage. As the performance began, Arisa Komiya, voice of Dia Kurosawa, quietly stepped onto the sand and traced the word "Aqours" into it, mirroring a memorable moment from the anime — a silent tribute met with roars of affection from the audience.

One by one, each of the nine members — Anju Inami (Chika), Rikako Aida (Riko), Nanaka Suwa (Kanan), Arisa Komiya (Dia), Shuka Saito (You), Aika Kobayashi (Yoshiko), Kanako Takatsuki (Hanamaru), Aina Suzuki (Mari), and Ai Furihata (Ruby) — made their entrance to the opening song “DREAMY COLOR,” first featured in their debut live-action music video. The performance reaffirmed the group's unwavering spirit, which embraced change while remaining true to their roots.
Aqours’ setlist was a journey through memory, framed with new stories and messages of hope. Energetic favourites such as “Aqours☆HEROES” and “GEMSTONE ‘DE-A-I’” stirred both nostalgia and excitement. The audience, holding blue penlights, formed the iconic “Yousoro Road” during the performance of “Koi ni Naritai AQUARIUM,” a powerful symbol of unity between fans and performers.

The second day featured a special medley of Season 2 tracks from the anime series, including a long-awaited return of “MIRACLE WAVE” after seven years, and emotional renditions of “Sora mo Kokoro mo Hareru kara” and “WATER BLUE NEW WORLD.” As the nine voices blended into “WONDERFUL STORIES,” a poignant monologue by Inami reminded fans: “Every step we’ve taken, every moment we’ve shared — that was our brilliance.”
Visual storytelling was woven throughout the concert. Newly animated segments for each school year group offered touching character-driven reflections and hopeful dialogue. The second-years reminisced over their “Love Live!” victory, while the third-years took a symbolic photo together, cherishing their enduring friendship.

Songs like “HAPPY PARTY TRAIN” and “Bokura no Umi de Mata Aou” underlined that Aqours’ journey is far from over. Their latest theme, “Tokoshie hours,” combined vibrant Motown beats with warm lyrics: “Dreams don’t end. We still want to be with you.” It was a message both of farewell and promise.
The encore brought with it powerful emotion. The concert’s final number, “Yuki wa Doko ni? Kimi no Mune ni!” was performed as the nine members rode trolleys through the ocean of nine-colour penlights — a sea made up of love from every corner of the dome. Voices from the crowd continued to sing, even as the final notes rang out and the group gave their closing bows.

Each member gave heartfelt personal messages to the audience. Kobayashi shared, “Aqours has become eternal — not because anything has changed, but because you’ve kept us alive in your hearts.”
Suzuki tearfully reflected, “I never had a proper youth until I became part of Aqours. You gave me something I thought I’d never experience.” Furihata added, “We’re not just friends or rivals — we’re something more meaningful. Thank you for everything.”

Other members echoed sentiments of growth, gratitude, and forward-looking determination. Takatsuki declared she would no longer dwell on “what-ifs,” and Suwa embraced the heat and passion of the finale as truly emblematic of Aqours.
Aida gently reminded the audience that even if distance grows, they remain united in spirit, and Saito openly shared her dream of one day returning to the stage as Aqours again — whenever that may be.

Inami’s speech brought the house to a unified silence. Recalling the difficult early days of Aqours, she said, “We faced storms, but we smiled through them. You all led us here with your belief.
That’s what made this life as school idols the best one I could have ever imagined.” Gathering the members for a final group cheer, she led the vow: “Even if we shared pain and hardship — we will walk forward with pride. Aqours, Sunshine!”

As they waved goodbye for the last time, the stage faded to the image of an empty hourglass — its sands having all fallen. But then, in a final act of symbolism, the hourglass turned. The sand began to fall once more. The story of Aqours is not over. The nine will continue to live in the hearts of fans and in the spirit of Numazu, as they look ahead to the future — eternal, ever bright.
