Satelight Rings in 30th Anniversary with Nobunaga the Fool Music Launch

Nobunaga the Fool Songs Hit Streaming as Satelight Toasts 30th Anniversary
Satelight Celebrates 30 Years with Full Nobunaga the Fool Music Collection Online (Press Release)

Satelight Inc., the studio behind genre-defining anime like Macross Frontier and Genesis of Aquarion, is officially 30 this year — and instead of just lighting candles, they’re lighting up streaming services with the full soundscape of Nobunaga the Fool.

Starting 23 May 2025, fans can now dive back into the epic, alternate-history world of Nobunaga the Fool through a massive rollout of character songs, soundtracks, and long-awaited theme tracks — all now available on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, LINE MUSIC, Amazon Music Unlimited, and YouTube Music.

For the uninitiated: Nobunaga the Fool is no ordinary anime. Originally airing in 2014, this audacious sci-fi meets Sengoku mashup brought together East and West’s most iconic figures — think Joan of Arc and Julius Caesar in mechanised suits of armour — in a cosmic war of ideology and destiny.

Dreamt up by Shoji Kawamori, who’s also a special advisor at Satelight and served as series composer and chief director, the show blended mecha action, mysticism and stage-theatre crossover into one wild, stylish ride.

Satelight Drops Nobunaga the Fool Soundtrack Bonanza to Mark 30 Years in the Game

To celebrate three decades of Satelight’s creative madness, the studio’s now unlocked the full musical arsenal from Nobunaga the Fool, including:

🎤 Character Song Vol. 1 – Oda Nobunaga (Mamoru Miyano)
🎤 Character Song Vol. 2 – Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Yuki Kaji)
🎤 Character Song Vol. 3 – Jeanne Kaguya d’Arc (Yoko Hikasa)
🎤 Character Song Vol. 4 – Ichihime (Minori Chihara)
🎤 Character Song Vol. 5 – Himiko (Nao Toyama)
🎤 Character Song Vol. 6 – Gaius Julius Caesar (Yuichi Nakamura)

Each track packs not just vibes but pure character essence — from Nobunaga’s defiant fire to Jeanne’s conflicted soul. The songs feel less like idle B-side fillers and more like full-on character diaries told in melody.

The original soundtracks Vol. 1 & 2, both by Masaru Yokoyama (yes, the same one who did Mashle and Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans), are also now up for grabs. Expect sweeping orchestral scores, heavy drumlines, and that signature Yokoyama emotion that punches you in the heart when you least expect it.

And to top it all off? The previously unreleased Season 2 ending theme “Ran” by ASUKA is finally out — and it’s a banger. Soft yet powerful, it perfectly captures the emotional intensity and inner turmoil that defined the latter half of the series. It joins earlier themes like:

It’s the first time the complete audio collection’s been made so widely available, and longtime fans are buzzing. Whether you're reliving iconic battles or just vibing to Hideyoshi’s smooth pipes (Yuki Kaji never misses), this release hits all the right nostalgic nerves.

And honestly, it couldn’t have come at a better time. With the anime industry constantly shifting, it's refreshing to see a studio like Satelight pay homage to its legacy while giving fans old and new a reason to celebrate.

So, if you’re in the mood for some futuristic feudalism with a side of space-opera beats — get those headphones on and stream away.
